Hoffman is so bad right now. Today’s performance is worse than some of his blown saves

Fisher feels like a seasoned closer and Hofmann feels like a rookie

He was a last resort to use today, they didn't want to go to him and for good reason as we saw with his velo.

Probably didn't get properly warmed up either as he rarely ever goes in mid-inning.

The jays need to seriously start looking at other options… fisher or even yesavage would be perfect in that role with his strikeout ability. I know they want to make him a starter, but they did the same with Aaron Sanchez back in the day… if we blow a game in the playoffs because of Hoffman I will lose my ****.

3-4 MPH isn’t some kind of normal drop for him. I’d be worried about his arm if I were the Jays and I expect they are.

In other words, for Hoffman to be effective his command needs to be precise and he needs to incorporate a greater variety of pitches. Its a tough conundrum to have, especially when the command has been suspect at times.

It just sucks because even if the Jays do go with someone else, you effectively destroy any confidence Hoffman has, which doesn’t bode well for a bullpen thats already been super shaky. I don’t envy Schneider here one bit, tough place to be. If it was up to me, you keep Hoffman as the closer and be open to giving Yesavage, Dominguez and Fisher some closing opportunties.

2023 - 4 seamer used 27.4% of the time
2024 - 4 seamer used 36.1% of the time
2025 - 4 seamer used 39.4% of the time

Exit Velocities in 2025:
4 Seamer 95.3 MPH
Slider 84.5 MPH
Split Finger 85.7 MPH
Sinker 86.7 MPH

His 4 seamer is getting smoked hard this year but somehow he's using it more than he did the previous 2 seasons. That makes no sense at all. It should be an obvious adjustment to stop using it as much and go back to heavier slider usage which is by far his best pitch. He threw his slider 47.9% of the time in 2023 and 40.8% of the time in 2024 but he's using it only 29% of the time this year. Only possible explanation I can think of is they don't want him to throw it as much for health reasons which is possible because there was the red flagged medicals for him.

Stop trying to push the chokeman nickname. You guys all cried when I started using Blowmano. Now you think it’s cool to come up with your own nicknames. I already came up with coughman, leave the nicknames to me, im much better at this.

Chokeman is better; I’ve called him a choker all season and there’s no rhyme or reason he’s gotten so much worse this year than the previous 2 seasons other than being a choker closer. It fits.

No, Coughman and Hoffman are much closer and thus Boogie's is better

Thank you.

Now let’s start a petition to get coughman out of the closer role.

Mariners roster is stacked from a WAR perspective since the trades

But their run differential is terrible.

It's only 51 while ours is 87.

that home run call last night was truly mind-boggling. how on earth did they conclude that that was not a catchable ball? Straw's glove was literally right next to the guy's leaning way over the fence, not to mention that that dude was clearly interfering. one of the worst calls i've ever seen.

Not in Game 150. Save your outrage for when it inevitably happens in the deciding game of the ALCS.

Gimenez has 3 OAA at SS in like 6 games, he might be the best SS defender in the league. I think he should play there whether Bo is back or not.

Honestly they should just make it a mandatory rule across all ballparks that if a fan interferes and it’s inconclusive that it’s not a home run and home teams should instruct their fans not to reach over the wall.

Gimenez is incredibly valuable even if he doesn't hit at all. SS of the future (and hopefully the present).

Will it be easier to re-sign Bieber if Jays can offer him elite defence 2 through 9?
