Bored in offseason. Fix the Kings with Jazz/76ers/Bucks

Post#1 » by tcheco » Wed Sep 17, 2025 6:26 pm

Kings trade
DDR
Monk

Kings get
Lauri
Filipowski

Utah get
2026 FRP Kings
2027 FRP Spurs 1-16
2027 FRP Heat lottery protected
2031 FRP Wolves
2031 FRP Bucks
Kuzma
Pat
Josh Green
Saric

Bucks get
DDR

Hornets get
Monk
Sensabaugh

Kings go for Lauri thinking the fit next to sabonis offessively is perfect, add a prospect in Filipowski. They give up 3 picks potencially, but only the 2026 is their own.

Jazz pile up in picks, add a tank commander in Kuzma to make sure they dont win any games by mistake, Saric and Pat expire after this year

Bucks add DDR whom is 10x better than Kuzma, and that lack of defense is compensated by the trio o Turner, Giannis and Portis on defense.

Hornets trade a lottery protected pick to upgrade 2 bad players into Monk whom can be a super sixth man, and with Ball health always in question, can help the team be at least competitive, something that wasnt true last year and can be detrimental for young players trying to develop

Hornets are the hardest one to sell this trade to. they get a good player for a protected pick and 2 neutral value players. Couldnt find a team that made that much sense, Memphis got Ty Jerome, 76ers got VJ too, adding monk might be overkill for both

If the 2031 first was available for DDR, Kuz would (finally) be a King already.

Charlotte has Ball/Sexton/Kon/Mann.. Monk should no longer be a target and isn’t worth that first in general imo.

Utah should do this deal without the other teams overpaying.

I don't think that markanen has this kind of value or he likely would already be on another team already. I also wouldn't want to do this as a kings fan, that's too much to give up for what I think would be a moderate improvement to the team.

Lauri doesn’t fit AT ALL with Domas.

This actually makes our lineup problems worse and we pay to give away better players?!?!

Hard no from the Kings.

I actually think he is a fantastic fit, but this is just too much to give.

I don’t think it’s an overpay, all we are getting is bad players and mostly protected picks. I think Utah should be holding on Flip.

3 of the 5 picks are unprotected, so that is just factually wrong. I think 3 unprotected picks, all with plausible upside, is pretty decent return for Lauri. The Spurs pick probably won't convey, but adding the Miami pick is pretty nice, too.

TBH, having Phoenix and Milwaukee's firsts in 2031 is the exact kind of forward thinking move I would hope for our organization to make. We will have bottomed out this year, but with actual promising players on the roster. We will have a lot of picks to help find and cycle through prospects just like OKC has done. Also, I never underestimate the power of the Kings to mess things up, and the West is ultra competitive. Even if everything goes right, without a top-10 player they may not make the playoffs.

Bucks aren’t remotely interested in giving a FRP for DeRozan, simple as that. He is old and not worth that much, is a terrible fit with Giannis, and the Bucks have limited assets. It’s a hell no from me. Keeping Kuzma is better than giving up the 31 FRP, the only way the Bucks give up that pick is for a core player and DeRozan is not one.

What makes you think hes not a fit? He isn't really a defender, but it's so hard to find a defense PF who can also shoot 3s. In terms of talent/fit, I think he does a ton that works well with Sabonis. Stretches the floor, can run DHO off Sabonis, can play in extremely big pnr with Sabonis, provides a 7' body, can cut.

I think hes a way better fit than someone like Kuminga, and hes a massive upgrade talent wise. If the Kings want to compete, moving Monk/Demar + picks for Lauri on paper actually seems like a playoff team.

Schroder/Carter
LaVine/Keon
Keegan/Nique
Lauri/Jones
Sabonis/Maxime

Suddenly have 2 legit offensive options ahead of Sabonis. Have a ton more size than we currently do. Almost everyone can spread the floor around Sabonis.

Absolutely zero chance that anyone gives up a 2031 1st for this version of Demar DeRozan, and this is a patently absurd return for Lauri. Struggling to come up with any positive feedback because the value is just so off here lol. Probably best to go back to the drawing board on this one....
