Lamar Odom would be disastrous tbh. He’s lucky Kobe got the best out of him. I lowkey wish he played with LeBron from 2005 onwards just so Bron fans can get infuriated with his play. Give me Mo Williams over Odom any day of the week.

Don't agree with you. Lamar can be much better in today's game. He can swtich in defense, also good post defender, great rebounder. On offense he got the handles, can bring the ball up, push the tempo. He is a decent shooter and can operate in the paint. Basketball IQ is high level. He may average around triple double.
The problem was is off the court for him unfortunately.

yeah but the pressures of todays celebrity nba would crush him and distract him from developing. He would have married a kardashian and got hooked on drugs by his second contract.

I literally came into this thread to only say one person: Lamar Odom. He would be excellent in today's NBA. The phrase "stretch 4" is so overused - people seem to apply it to any big man who shoots. Someone above called Ryan freakin Anderson a stretch 4. To be a stretch 4 you have to actually be a real 4 to begin with, meaning capable of banging down low with big guys. Guys like Ryan Anderson are just 'big guys who shoot' - he was never able to bang with other big players, he was always a feather in the wind. Odom on the other hand had the complete game, inside and outside, depending on matchup. He also had ball handling skills way ahead of his time for a big, which to me is a big part of being a real threat as a stretch 4 - you can't just stand at the 3 point line to make the defense adjust. You have to have the implicit threat that you can put it on the floor and do something with it. Lamar always had that.
