2018 feels like only a few years ago.

Hard to believe we're literally more than halfway through the 'Trae Young Experience'.

Do you want Trae to lead the team in field goal attempts per game? If not, what option should he be?

I don't see the FGA issue as simply as this.

1. We have a very well-crafted offense based on generating open shots, not isolation
2. No one else on the team beyond Trae can create their own shot when that offense breaks down
3. Half-court shot attempts and fastbreak opportunities are very different
For half court/set offense, the players on the court and the opposing defense really dictate who shoots the ball on a given possession.
Fastbreak opportunities are more erratic and unpredictable -- even if they tend to involve the same players or positions

All that to say:

  • Jalen and Dyson should get the bulk of transition buckets
  • Trae and Kristaps should get the bulk of the 3-pt shot attempts
  • Kristaps, Kennard and Zacch should see most of the Catch & Shoot Opportunities
Zacch from the corner; Porzingis from above the break
  • Zacch, Okongwu and Jalen should see most of the attempts in the restricted area
  • Okongwu, Dyson and Trae should see most of the mid-range attempts

Quavo Coaches NBA Star Trae Young In The Studio, Adds Ad Libs To New Song

The Migos rapper walked the Atlanta Hawks point guard through how to add some sauce to a brand-new track.

The Atlanta Hawks guard and Migos rapper linked up for “Switching Stages” from Billboard and The Players’ Tribune. As the title suggests, the show features the pair interacting in their natural elements. The first episode starts with Young and Quavo playing a game of HORSE on the basketball court before hitting the recording studio. There, Quavo guided the All-Star point guard through creating a song — well, its ad libs.

“Want me to be a part of it?” Ice Trae asked, and his rapping homie was totally with it.

“Oh yeah, I need you on some ad libs or something,” Quavo said. “Whatever you want to do. If you want to pop off the intro, that’ll be hard. You talk some s**t on the intro.”

It's certainly possible if he can get his shooting percentages up and if he turns the ball over less. Winning the MVP would be everything! My expectation is that he will be an All-Star from the jump. -HMFFL

Trae Young could be a dark horse candidate for the NBA's most prestigious award

Shut your mouth Patrick and enjoy retirement.

Patrick Beverley disses Hawks star Trae Young with revelation about former teammates

Former NBA journeyman Patrick Beverley recently had some harsh words about Atlanta Hawks all-star Trae Young.

“I've talked to people who played in Atlanta. They don't wanna play there. They don't think he's a good leader. They don't think he's a good teammate… If you don't win, when you retire they're gonna forget your name,” said Beverley, per NBA Central on X, formerly Twitter.

It's unclear at this point who Beverley talked to in order to come up with this conclusion. While Young has garnered a reputation of at times being a bit heliocentric on offense, there's no doubt that players like John Collins, Kevin Huerter, and others wouldn't be at anywhere near their current contract figures had they played with a different point guard.

Pat Bev saying anything to remain relevant in his post NBA career.

Look, TY has clearly had issues with maturity and leadership in his early playing days, but so have most young stars.
Trae has come a long way in a short period.

Even if some of these criticisms are true, Young is an easy target and Pat is in desperate need of a few clicks.

Don't take the bait Young Man...

“Delusional” – Kevin Durant Is in Trae Young’s Corner in Beef Against Patrick Beverley

Durant fired back: “Aye. This s** gettin outta hand man. C’mon Pat you sound delusional brother.” It wasn’t just a defense of Young, but another chapter in Durant’s long-running back-and-forth with Beverley, a reminder that the NBA’s off-court battles can be as compelling as what happens between the lines. However it also built an unexpected ally for Young.

Trae Young to Patrick Beverley: 'What have you won?'

Sep. 18, 2025, 5:25 AM EDT

Trae Young: Let's get into some more facts. Actually, you talk about a winner. What have you won? Tell me what have you won. And don't respond with that sympathy line— "I won in life, I won in basketball." Because you did, man. You made it to the NBA. There's very few people that can say that. But at the same time, bro, it's levels to this. And I don't respond to a lot of people. There's been a lot of things said about me over the years. There's been a lot of fake things reported about me and my time in Atlanta. And I've been quiet. But you, out of all people, should really know me. Out of all people that do a lot of talking for a living should know me.

Ditto.

Trae needs to focus his energies on more productive pursuits.

NOTE: I wish more players and teammates came to his defense. That silence is deafening...

I think it's about time our leader stands up for himself. Time for our franchise to not be everybody's botch.
