Championship record, American record, and world title for Sydney McLaughlin in the 400m flat. Hoping she goes for the double at one event at some point - maybe LA. Plenty of time to get the WR before then too.

Just one hell of a race. I was shaking going into it. I’m glad it lived up to the hype. It’s hard to bet against Sid performing on the big stage.
If she got gold on the double, that would be absurd. I can’t imagine having enough left for it, that would be 5 400’s.

She probably should have the legit world record, as the current owner was almost certainly a doper.

I have no doubt in my mind she'll take over the WR at some point here. Just a matter of.....time

Agreed. But dig out your passport & visit Banff National Park sometime. You won't be disappointed.

Has anyone here ever ordered a couch from "Poly and Bark?"
They look good, have good reviews, and are priced well for leather furniture. But its a lot to spend without seeing it in person.

I feel so bad for Kenny, man. He’s a phenomenal talent who just can’t luck into a gold at a major championship. Two silvers in the Olympics. Two silvers at worlds.
He tightened up at the end, and I think that was the difference. Hopefully, he gets it next time.

We were there for 6 hours. Hardly a fair assessment on my part.
I enjoyed the rest of it so much that I just would prefer to focus on that again.
I prefer the mountains in Montana a bit more. It feels more wild. The area around yellowstone NP north and south of that is crazy.
I lived in that exact spot for a few years. Without going too far off grid, I saw: moose, elk, fossils, grizzly bears, wolves, arrowheads, and of course absolutely gorgeous scenery.

What hikes did you do at Glacier?

Has anyone eaten at any of the restaurants in the deer district lately? I looking at either craft ( inside trade hotel) or Explorium distirlled. Going to the Eric Church concert on Friday and plan on eating dinner down there before the concert.

I just finished (most of) “the prosecutor’s podcast” on the Adnan Sayid / Hae Min Lee murder trial. I had listened to the Serial podcast on the case about 8+ year back. It really is wild how two different series can come to such wildly different conclusions. And each be so certain. The human experience, particularly in regards to perspective and bias, is so much larger than we perceive.

Hadn't heard of this so I just looked it up and listened to the 20 minute long "just the facts" episode. Their conclusion and their thoughts that this was a pretty simple case doesn't really surprise me. I really liked the Serial series but in the last ten years there's been the lingering thought that yea, he probably did it.
Now I want someone to make the 20 minute Defense episode.

Looking for something to put in my basement for exercise.
Does anyone use a Peloton? Dick’s had them for 50% off but I missed out on the sale.
My basement has low ceilings so I don’t think a treadmill will work, thought a Peloton or something similar would be the way to go.

LOL I think Serial made a 500 minute defense episode.
I don’t wish ill on anyone. I hope Sayid did not do it. I don’t know him. But yeah, it seems like a pretty straightforward case to me. Ex boyfriend, just found out his ex was dating a new guy, cellphone technology was new (which means all parties misunderstood it) has him more or less in the vicinity and timeline of the murder and burial, and worst of all someone inarguably involved (a scummy guy) turned on him and fed the cops info only a participator could know. And of course cell phone records tie those two guys together most of the whole day. And of course Adnan has no alibi for 90% of the suspected murder and burial time. Nor did he reach out to his ex when he learned she was missing. Woof.
Probably the worst part of true crime is we all think we are experts. I don’t really know anything.

Just got back from my Black Hills/Badlands hiking trip. Was pretty awesome, but we made the unfortunate mistake of camping in the Badlands due to the proximity to Sioux Falls where I was for work. I wish we would've camped in the Black Hills and hiked there a bit more. Badlands was cool, but easily a one day trip kind of thing. The Black Hills/Mt. Rushmore/Custer State Park was freaking awesome. I wanted more time there. Always great to spend time with my dad who is now 70. Neither of us are in as good of shape as we used to be and we even opted for a hotel the last night

Actually, no. My dad and I both had zero desire to do so after seeing the 1000 billboards. And to prove a point we said heck no we're not stopping haha
