He just hit a HR.

Yeah, he should probably be up here or the Yankees are going to be a game back by next week. This offense is literally a disgrace if Vlad is gonna hit like this.

HR off a LHP for Santander at 111 MPH off the bat, yeah he's ready

So much for any talk of making Fisher one of the couple of high leverage guys.
Back to middle relief / larger deficit games.

5 game lead turning to 3 game lead over the course of 24 hours unless a massive scrub Cade Povich can somehow shut down the NYY.

I bet the FG odds didn't see that coming

Fisher? They should still use him in high leverage.

The bullpen is still decimated from earlier in the week though. Somebody's gotta pitch these innings today because of what Bassitt did.

Their large number of comeback wins against bullpen arms is also an indictment of their inability to hit quality starting pitching. I don't think this team will get very far from the post-season unless Bo is back and Santander can make an impact.

Offence struggled and causes concern, but in the end the team did what they had to do result wise with the split.

Can’t win if you don’t score any runs.

At least we have Gimenez’s defense…

How does it work since we split the series 2-2. Do I make the next game thread, or does it move to somebody else?

If I recall, even with a tie, you make the next game thread.

Agreed. They need to sacrifice defense and just let Bo DH (if he's capable) and Santander play the outfield. If the first 3 starters for the Jays are Gausman, Bieber, and Yesavage, then I don't think they'll be giving up the amount of hard contact fly balls that would necessitate great outfield defense like the other SP's would (Berrios, Bassitt, Max), so screw defense and get as many bats in there as possible. That's probably this team's only shot at moving on.

Winning 2 at this cursed place was already a miracle in itself. Can’t say in feeling much more confident going to Kauffman either though based off history lol.

The biggest game of the season could quite easily be that game next Friday now. You blew it, Rogers.
