C is his best position and he could still play SF if he wanted. He might not even transition over to C until he's 33-34 and then he'll be an outlier athlete at C. Then when he eventually slows down relative to his peers, he'll just put most of his effort into D.
I remember when these were the Lebron takes. "Has no skills, he'll fade away after 30"

Re: Giannis (20k career points)
For comparison: Nowitzki reached 20k when he was 31 years, 208 days. Giannis is more than a full year younger than that. I do not expect him to play until almost 41, but I expect him to have a considerably higher scoring average for the rest of his career.
I think 34k is not unrealistic, around Kobe range.

When your #2 guy is always out injured that puts a heavier burden on you. Good thing Middleton was traded so Giannis can coast a bit more often

I cant believe he is 31. It was just yesterday when I saw the thread about him on the Draft board, when nobody knew him, was just a skinny long kid on a 144p video. Then his rookie year, his constant improvement. And now he is 31... Where is time going man

He's 30. Just turned in December.

Re: Giannis (20k career points)
what's nuts about Giannis is that after the clear and obvious PEDs to get massive, he actually hasn't done squat to improve as a player. He's actually gotten worse as a shooter. You have to try real hard to get paid to do something and put so little work into your craft that you get worse. He's like most centers that was able to dominate because of his size and athleticism advantage. I used to put Lebron in that category but his game has evolved some unlike Giannis. Because of this, I've lost respect for Giannis. He used to be one of my favorite players but now it's tough getting excited by what he does on the court because as productive and great as he is, he hasn't come close to maximizing his potential because if he did, we could be talking about him being in the GOAT conversation instead of in the late teens.

Wtf you talking about the last two years the only player to average 30pts on over 60% and this year shooting 48% from mid range. Now the free throws is a mental thing with him this year. PEDS please he didn’t transform over nite that was from years in the gym. Maybe you think PEDs made him grow 3 to 4 inches too lol

It’s true, but his game took off when he added body strength and size. He’s gonna be big, strong, long and very fluid as a ball handler for a long time. I don’t think his straight line speed and vertical is nearly as important for how he scores as people think it is. He’s gonna be aboe to eurostep and dunk without much of a vertical for a long long time.
Yep, he basically tip toes his dunks most of the time already. Plays a position down because he can and we've got all the lazy takes about him aging badly.
People always expect the mega athletes to age poorly, but it’s really kind of the opposite. The ones that can afford to lose a step are the ones that are 2-3 steps ahead of everyone.
Guys like KG aged super well even with injuries because of his fluidity and mobility. Even when he got slow and ground bound, there is a certain guard like type of movement and ability to turn and make moves laterally that aren’t speed based. Giannis has those things, and people fall in lvoe with his vertical, but like you said, he just yams on dudes without taking off already. He might not be a 30 ppg in 30 minute guy forever lol, but they better get used to seeing him, he’s gonna be around for a while barring multiple catastrophic injuries.
Even Giannis is talking about needing to change the way he plays to try to help lengthen the time he can play at a high level.
"I'm in my thirties, obviously, [and] I believe that I have four [to] six years, still, of good basketball to give, but I got to be smarter," Antetokounmpo said. "I got to be smarter in the way I play."

Re: Giannis (20k career points)
Meaningless accomplishment. It means nothing when Giannis can't play basketball properly, can only score through finishing and transition which sucks against elite personnel like Joel Embiid. Without those two traits he would be a below average bench player AT BEST. He isn't elite on either end, is having the GOAT situation all-time, and needs a specific system to win.
Once Giannis accepts his role as a 5th, 4th, even 3rd option, I will start to respect him. But now, he's a whining, flopping crybaby who fouls every second offensively, the refs are supporting him to the max. He doesn't deserve a top 47 spot all-time
There is already a current Giannis thread on the GB that you made yourself. Stop bumping old threads just to post redundant hater comments and irritate people. -b

based on what? Giannis would need 8 seasons of 19 pts per game while playing 70 games a season
that seems pretty attainable...
70 games a season for 8 straight seasons seems unattainable. He’s only played in 70 or more games once since 2019 and he’s in his 30s now.

Ya maybe but Giannis will have multiple 30 pt seasons to offset the 70 plus games the way he’s playing maybe 5 more seasons of close to 30
