I'm beginning to think they know CC won't be coming back this year, but are holding back on making that decision, just to keep the fans involved. It's like the carrot and the stick.

I was thinking (but didn't write it) that when Clark went down for the umpteenth time in mid July that the Fever should mothball her until Labor Day, just to be sure, then bring her back for the final stretch and playoffs. That may indeed be what is happening. Or perhaps there is even more going on with her health and she will in fact not return this season. Either way, it's been a mess.

Could be. At this point though, I'm not sure there's enough of the team left to make a run.

Probably Aliyah Boston is one who misses CC the most. Seems like she was having a much better season before Clark went out, being a favorite target of hers. Not that she's having a bad season, but she seems a bigger presence with Clark around.

Yawn. Another day, another loss to the Lynx. Remember when the Fever beat the Lynx for the Commisioner's Cup? Seemed like a different team.
Guess we'll see now if they can hold on to their playoff spot. Not sure I care, really, since I don't see them doing anything with it.

Swept the Storm for the season. We match up well with Seattle, at least. Sparks are up Friday. Have to win these winnable games to keep that playoff spot. Maybe I'm naive, but I feel like we may be seeing a Caitlin Clark return at some point here coming up (unless she gets reinjures herself). She's been practicing more, and they just released her Nike signature brand. Maybe they know something.

That and the Fever are a tough out when they get good play from their PG. They have had precious little of that this season due to all the injuries. But if you put a strong PG performance next to Boston, Mitchell, and (to a lesser extent) Howard, that's a solid squad. And Sims was great on Tuesday, posting a 22/6 game.

Honestly, Indiana is a very good team. The injuries are unfortunate.

Yeah, the bad thing is we didn't really get to see how good they could have been.

This is seflish tbh but if CC can't come back I think I'll take a lottery pick instead haha

Why not? Might as well. Maybe she shouldn't come back anyway, a lot of people think she should be held out until next year.

Nice clutch win against the Sparks. I was really concerned that we were going to be swept by the Sparks. How embarrassing would that be?
Odyssey Sims comes up big at the end. Our short girls can ball!

Looking at the standings now, the win against the Sparks is huge.

Yeah, and we still might miss the playoffs.

The Fever really doesn't do well on these western road trips, do they? Right now we're in the last playoff spot, three games to go, one game up on the Sparks. Who have five games left. The prize for #8 seed? Being eliminated by the Lynx.

The Fever have officially announced that Clark is done for the season. Can't say it's a surprise, or a bad thing. This season is shot anyway. Some are saying the Fever knew this all along and just dragged it out to keep interest and attendance up. I don't know, but it's good to have some closure on it at least.

Well, that's the regular season. I had the Minnesota game penciled in as a loss, but I guess I had forgotten that it would be a meaningless game for the Lynx. We did beat them for the Commissioner's Cup though. Now just waiting to see who we face in the playoffs.

Honestly, I didn't think the Fever would get past the Dream, but nice to see them show some clutch and win their first playoff series in ten years. Aces are next, I think they swept Indiana in the regular season? I'm not sure there are any Fever fans left watching since Clark is gone though.
