Brewers/Cardinals Series

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Fri Sep 19, 2025 2:55 am

Friday - 7:15 - Misiorowski vs. Gray
Saturday - 6:15 - Patrick vs. Mikolas
Sunday - 1:15 - TBA vs. Liberatore
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hopefully can take 2 of 3 and keep positive momentum into the playoffs even though I know we’ll get almost a week off assuming we clinch the division, which could happen this weekend if sweep which I don’t expect.

I know what I cheer for doesn't matter - I've been more focused on just winning the division/getting the bye. The #1 seed would rock...having to play an extra round against a high payroll team would suck big time, so I'm glad we're about to lock up the division, which almost assuredly comes with the bye finally. The Cubs not losing for like a week scared me a bit there.

If we have to go to Philly for an extra game in the NLCS, at least that means we're in the NLCS.

Just stupid rambling here, but if I had to pick an outcome a few weeks ago, knowing we'd win the division/take the bye is much more impactful than the #1 seed...but hey, I'll take that obviously as well.

Same. I just wanted to fully and finally avoid the Wild Card round. 1 or 2 did not make a big difference to me either.

Same here. The other 5 in the NL playoffs are tough. Getting the bye means we automatically avoid 3 of them.

Even losing the 1-seed wouldn't have to mean that you lose homefield advantage in the NLCS. Philly will be playing a really good team in the second round if they get the 1-seed. The top of the NL is very strong this year. I don't think any team from the top-5 should be given much more than a 50% chance of beating any other one. Barring major injuries, the only way a team will have a clear advantage (roughly >55%) in the second round, IMO, is if the Mets (or Reds or Giants) upset the 3-seed in round 1.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

I also always felt home field meant the least in MLb compared to other sports. Crowds are generally hot and momentum can happen, but in general feel road teams can more easily navigate a road playoff game vs smaller NHL/NBA arenas when people are on top of the action and NFL where play calling, penalties, etc can be affected.

I would be curious to see home vs away records in the playoffs across all 4 leagues.

I really don't think there's any way you can let him start a playoff game.

Then what you're saying is you can't have him on the roster.

Especially in the best of five format I'd be totally fine leaving him off.

Second time Sal's been K'd on a bad top of the zone call.

I think Miz is just a one or two inning appearance and hope for the best with a short leash type of guy or an innings eater in a blow out.

I disagree. Being the 2 seed means most likely having to face the Dodgers in the Divisional Round, instead of the Padres or Cubs. That's a huge difference.

I know our recent history, but this team is different. We should think bigger.

We shouldn't be happy with the 2. It's 1 seed or bust.

Anderson is just laughably bad whenever I see him pitch.
