2010s Draft - R1 - JimmyPlopper vs Larry_Russell*

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

I have INCREDIBLE defense here. Super heafy defender at point of attack, elite defender at SG, lebrons dpoy runner up season at sf, super smart, switchable all defense horford and DPOY chandler in thr middle.

We are going to pressure everything. Wades lack of shooting means we can play off of him amd muddy up the middle which lets Lebron play passing lanes and weakside.

Offensively I have a perfect fit around lebron

Elite shooting from Klay, Horford amd Billups
Chandler give me an elire screensetter and vertical spacer/lob threat.

Off the bench I have some ahooting, a big body and a 6moty microwave scorer in Lou Williams.

Rotation
PG: Mike Conley (36) / Manu Ginobili (12)
SG: Dwyane Wade (38) / Manu Ginobili (10)
SF: Nicolas Batum (22) / Manu Ginobili (13) / Kyle Korver (13)
PF: Harrison Barnes (35) / Nicolas Batum (13)
C: Tim Duncan (35) / Andrew Bogut (13)

Draft and Budget
1.9: Tim Duncan (2010) - 13.9
2.2: Dwyane Wade (2010) - 19.6
3.2: Manu Ginobili (2011) - 12.7
4.9: Nicolas Batum (2014) - 10.0
5.2: Mike Conley (2013) - 11.8
6.9: Andrew Bogut (2015) - 5.3
7.2: Harrison Barnes (2015) - 8.0
8.9: Kyle Korver (2010) - 5.4
86.7/88 FGA/G

Approach
To game plan against Larry’s team, I emphasize a mix of disciplined perimeter defense and controlled half-court offense. Tim Duncan anchors the interior, limiting Chandler’s rim protection and controlling the boards against Adams, while also creating angles for my wings. On the perimeter, Conley and Wade pressure Billups and Lou Williams, forcing contested shots and limiting pick-and-roll efficiency. Manu Ginobili’s veteran savvy allows me to rotate and exploit defensive lapses, particularly against Thompson on the wing, while Batum and Barnes provide switchable defense to contain James’ versatility without overhelping and opening three-point lanes. Offensively, I focus on inside-out execution—Duncan and Wade draw attention in the post, spacing for Korver and Batum to punish overextensions, and Ginobili manages tempo to frustrate Larry’s rotations. Late-game, I tighten rotations with Conley, Wade, Batum, Duncan, and Ginobili, balancing playmaking, defense, and floor spacing. The strategy revolves around slowing the game down, avoiding fast-break points for James and Thompson, and forcing Larry’s stars into half-court isolation sets where I can match up intelligently and conserve energy.
