Which East Teams Make the Playoffs?
Just did this for the West, how about in the East?
Assumptions-Orl, NY and Clev are locks
Let's say Wash and BRK are locks not to make the playoffs (no offense fans)
So, of the remaining 10 teams, which 5 will make the playoffs?
I have Det, Milw, Indy, Bos and Atl making it
Raps/Heat lose in Playin
Char, Sixers, Bulls in lotto

Re: Which East Teams Make the Playoffs?
Here's mine:
Atlanta - The roster looks way better around Trae and barring injuries can they can be a top 4 playoff team.
Detroit - Cade, Ausar, Duren, Ivey, Stewart, and some vets. Growing and dangerous.
Milwaukee - They still have Giannis, and as long as they still have Giannis, they still have a shot at the playoffs. Unless Doc and/or this roster screws up.
Indiana - Despite losing Haliburton and Turner, they're still a good team (Still have Siakam), and Carlisle is still a damn good coach.
Boston - IDK, I think this will be Mazzulla's best coaching season, and they'll get a playoff spot via the play-in.

Milwaukee, Atlanta and Detroit seem pretty obvious.
I also went with Chicago (at the bottom, treadmilling as usual) and Boston (they still have enough to make the playoffs in the East).

Re: Which East Teams Make the Playoffs?
As others have said... Detroit, Milwaukee, and Atlanta look to be a near lock to join NY, Cleveland, and Orlando.
Who the last 2 teams are, heck if i know. Pacers lost 2 starters and the Celtics lost 3 starters plus a spot starter.
If Pacers and Celtics complete the top 8, the East is in worse shape than people think. Those 2 teams should be pitiful this season, especially Boston. C's lost 5 of their top 8 guys from last season plus a young dude with potential.

The east looks really weak this year, especially with the injury news on Herro. Cleveland, New York, Milwaukee and a bunch of meh

Re: Which East Teams Make the Playoffs?
Milwaukee and Detroit will make it.
Sixers should make it as long as Embiid can play 50 games.
Atlanta should be better.
I would say Toronto, Indy and Boston will be play-in teams.

If Detroit, who I have as high as the #2 seed next year(haven't locked in my picks yet, due to the Beasley equation, which changes things dramatically) finish below the Heat, ill eat a Miami Heat hat.SA37 wrote:My guess is:

Re: Which East Teams Make the Playoffs?
Atlanta and Detroit are solidly 4/5.
I don't think Indy or Boston is really trying for the playoffs. Toronto getting IQ back after a lost season an adding Ingrahm should get them to 40-46 wins and a playoff spot. The Bucks perimeter rotation is so weak that they aren't a lock but probably do make the playoffs. I had Miami getting a 7 or 8 seed but Herro's injury drops them a bit so I'll move Chicago into 8th. Decent depth, good health and trying to make the playoffs allows them to successfully chase the 8th seed and make no FO changes for several more seasons.

Re: Which East Teams Make the Playoffs?
Top 6 in the east seem pretty clear imo; Cleveland, NYK, Milwaukee, Orlando, Detroit, Atlanta. Boston, Toronto, Miami, Philly for the play in. Chicago and Indy on outside looking in

I don't think Detroit got any better from last season. LeVert/Robinson is a downgrade from Beasley/Hardaway Jr.
Even with Boston and Indy dropping in the standings, I think Atlanta and Orlando leapfrog Detroit. Philadelphia, if healthy, should finish ahead of Detroit. (As I type this, I am not realizing I forgot to include Philly in my prediction

I don't see where the improvement comes from with Detroit. I expect them to finish somewhere between 6th-8th.
