I mean I won’t give a damn if they retire Melo’s number because sports don’t make me give much of a damn anymore but I can still have my opinion. I think that still allowed here, right? In Hamsterdam of all places.

I guess I’m crazy when I say there’s nothing memorable about the Melo years. I can honestly say I don’t remember anything other than Lin and the year we had Rasheed Wallace and those guys. And maybe the brief ‘fun’ run when we first got Melo with Billups and that roster. But for me that entire Melo era was pretty much a blur. It was filled with a supreme disappointment and failure. I’m not going to put it all on one guys shoulders but the question here is about jersey retirement. Sure, he was voted as a top 75 player and he made the Hall of Fame. He did also have a great career on the Nuggets. 7 great years to be exact. Our jersey retirement is a franchise jersey retirement, not an NBA jersey retirement. I’m not comparing HOF careers between Melo and Oakley or Melo and Sprewell. I’m comparing memorable moments in a Knicks uniform. That’s all I’m doing. I just don’t have any fond playoff memories of Carmelo Anthony’s teams. If that makes me a bad (or sick) guy then so be it.

Either way Dolan will retire it. That was inevitable. I honestly, truly won’t care. I’m not going to come on here and go crazy about it when it happens. I just shared my take and done with that subject.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Now I’ll make a proclamation.

Mohammed Diawara will be in an NBA rotation within 3 years. Still a project but he has a certain ‘it’ factor. He has defensive awareness and just has pure raw athletic talent. I think he can be molded into a very competent NBA player and I think he can be a steal in the draft. And I don’t say that lightly. Last time I said that was for McBride and he’s a steal for where he was taken.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

melo was the most iconic and talented knick since ewing and came to our team after over a decade of being the laughingstock of the league. he did not take us there, and didn't take us all that far that many times. but everyone knew that 12-13 team was a heat killer and if roy hibbert didn't end our season we might've done the whole thing. there aren't many championship-certified knicks, on account of we only won twice. retire his number

I'm kind of shocked you don't have a lucrative Youtube account, you really out here with the mountaineering, no faking. And your friends are crazy, wingsuit mortality rate is unreal, I seen a documentary on it a while ago and a guy said at least 30 of his friends including his girlfriend had died doing it.

We all have ways we'd rather go. Guano doesn't want to fall from the sky and crash to bits, but he doesn't seem to mind the possibility of being crushed by a million tons of ice and being recovered by future archeologists of the 23rd century.

I rewatched this game the other day and I almost forgot how legendary this performance was. Melo ended a playoff win drought we had since 2001 with this game. Dropped 41 on the Heat big 3, played outstanding defense on Lebron and was even dishing it out. This the same game Amare came back with his fked up hand and Baron Davis ruined his knee. Melo was really playing with the corpse of Mike Bibby. It's crazy how he played with so little talent as a Knick. Can't wait to see us retire his number.

Doesn't need to be a championship team to get retired...it's not about the HOF or anything to me. I feel like if Melo gets retired, the franchise needs to do right by some of the 90s Knicks and retire them first, and do it well. Those guys might not have had as much talent as Melo, but they represented the city right and the city still remembers.

You know who I really wish could have had a better ending in NYC? Stephon Marbury.

I don't think he ever had the maturity to lead a franchise, but I don't think he ever had a chance with the Knicks. Goofballs running the place back then. I can't believe Dolan tried to bring back Isiah...glad he went and effed up the Suns instead. Phil Jackson wasn't much better. Clown president.

i have nice memories of a couple of those playoff runs but imo, i too don't think he should get his jersey retired.

to me, jersey retirement is for players that did something truly special here but unfortunately, he didn't win enough nor was he here for long enough

Its kinda fcked how sham calls this the worst thread when there is a fantasy team thread and an anime thread. At worst this thread is the 3rd.

But eben then there is a football thread of depressed giants fans talking themselves into adart saving their franchise. So 3rd might even be a stretch.

And thats not even including the trades/transaction thread with the ridiculous giannis watch or random absurd trade idea.

After all that this outdoors thread isnt even top 5 worst.

All things considered it might be the best!

the giants might actually have the worst leadership/front office situation in all of football rn, definitely bottom 5

i don't blame the guys for their jaxson dart delusions, it's the same as the frank, knox, rj situations, it's all the hope we have left to turn this thing around
