Re: Is Paul George a future HOF?
Yes.
Deal with it.
It's surprising to see this poll close. I get why someone might take a philosophical position that he doesn't "deserve it", however that is determined. But nobody with his level of accolade would ever be excluded.
If you want to say he doesn't deserve it, there's a decent list of people currently in the Hall who'd need to be removed.

You don't see it?
He is a 9 time all-star and 6 time all-NBA.
Paul George is closer to being a unanimous 1st ballot HOFer then he is not even being a HOFer. He is a LOCK.

Re: Is Paul George a future HOF?
Having read some posters replies regarding his accolades, and as an OKC fan who watched him have a top 5 player in the league season I will have to change my vote to a yes.

For reference - Chris Mullin is a 5 time all-star and 4 time all-nba. He finished 6th in MVP voting one year, 13th another.
He's in the Hall of Fame.
He's in the Hall of Fame.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Paul George is a better player than at least half the guys in the Hall of Fame, and obviously he has the accolades. He’s a lock.
It’s insane that he’s losing this poll. What did PG do to earn so many haters? He rivals Gobert for the most irrationally hated on player in the league.

Because the average fan has a short-term memory and are of the opinion that because George was bad and hurt last season, that dismisses his impressive accomplishments in his first 13 years in the league.
I remember seeing people do the same think with Dwight in his last few years, people don't get that just because a player declines as they get older, it doesn't negate what they accomplished in their prime, lol. Dwight was already a lock to make the hall of fame by 2011, when he already won DPOY multiple times, led his team to the finals and was a perennial all-star. Just because he declined over the next decade and was an role player by the end of the decade, didn't negate what he did.
Very poor logic.

I mean the basketball HOF is easier to get in than the NFL and MLB, but you can't say "everyone." Guys who were multiple time all-stars like Amare, Kemp, Marion, Kevin Johnson, Laimbeer, Rasheed etc. have been retired for a while and have not made the HOF.

I hate how the standard is basically "where you the face of a team at one point"?
Hall of Fame should be ALL TIME Greats. or if your a specialist, then at least be the best specialist in that field of all time BY FAR
Based on past selections he's a HOF.
The worst HOFers are guys like Richmond, Cheeks, Hill, Mullin etc. and George was better than all those guys and accomplished more.
I personally don't agree with the logic of "well these guys didn't deserve to get in, so let's let in MORE people that don't deserve it too!" lol
Those guys aren't Hall of Famers either (in my book)
And honestly I don't think PG is even better than those guys
But yes, I understand the Basketball HoF has very low standards.
Nobody cares what your standards are, based on the standards historically he will make it in. You are acting like George wasn't a great player in his prime...dude was a 9x all-star, multiple time all-NBA and all-defensive player, a gold medalist etc. he's accomplished quite a bit.
You would have a better argument if we were debating former all-stars who accomplished less like Blake Griffin, John Wall, Millsap, Horford, Cousins etc...now those are guys that shouldn't make the hall of fame, and likely won't.

Sorry but look at the lower standards with guys who played like 4 great years of their prime and still make it. There are just too many guys who were never close to being top 10 players in their careers making something that is meant to be prestigious/exclusive.

So you are proving my point. Amare, Kemp, Marion, Kevin Johnson, Laimbeer, Rasheed etc. have not made the HOF because they had short primes and were never truly top 10 players over a significant period.
Paul George is different - he's been a top 10 player in the league for roughly a decade since his 3rd season...a 9x all-star, great two way player, made several all-NBA and all-defensive teams.
Mo Cheeks and Mitch Richmond are considered the weakest modern era players to make the HOF
Richmond - 6 time all-star, 3 time all-NBA 2nd team, 2 time all-NBA 3rd team, won ROY, and part of the 1996 gold medal team.
Cheeks - 4 time all-star, 4 time all-NBA defensive first team, NBA champion.
So that above is the bar...Cheeks is a bit controversial but his NBA chip helped over the edge and he was considered an elite defender over his career which went under the radar with the average fan. Cheeks was averaging like 2.5-3 steals a game in his prime, even averaged 4 steals one season, and is 7th all-time in steals, despite not having a long career, dude was a pest defensively.

And there will be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth when Gobert makes the Hall too.
And yes, four time DPOY Rudy Gobert will make it.

Not at all. As others have mentioned Chris Webber is in there. Chris Mullins. So many 60's Celtics. Some awful choices like Earl Monroe. He's not just an easy choice, but a first ballot guy.
He'll be in the discussion for one of the weaker players in the hall, minus the guys that are in just for college, as pioneers, etc.

Lol, this is a lie. There are plenty of guys who have resumes nowhere near PG in the hall of fame

Yeah, if you look at all the players from the NBA that are not in, it's definitely not that easy to get in.
Many players with very good careers are not in.
And if you look at the international players that are not in, it's very clear that it is actually incredibly difficult for them to get in, and actually way, way harder for internationals to get in, than it is for someone to get into the baseball or American football halls.
It's just a myth that fans started for whatever reason, that any good player from the NBA gets in the hall, and it's an especially crazy myth, that any random international player, from anywhere, and from any league, gets in the hall. It's just simply not at all true.

I voted for him being in and said he will get in. But that's not the same thing as just how good are the players.
His resume is more than strong enough. I'm not talking about the resume. I'm saying that just in terms of how good he was, he will be one of the lesser players in the hall.

He was a 6-time All-NBA forward during an era with the greatest talent at forward of all time. (Lebron, Durant, Giannis are all top 20 all time greats, and Kawhi would have been up there too if he stayed healthy.)

Larry Froust at 8 will have company. Aldridge has 7 as did Joe Johnson. Those are his peers. Also in 2018 he was a replacement for Demarcus Cousins. So a weak 9.
Also Olympics? Replace him with Caruso and they get better. Gold medals from team USA shouldn't hold much weight IMHO as they're always clear favorites. People still clown LeBron for a Bronze medal (even though others were to blame ie: Duncan).
The 2008 Olympic team literally just got inducted into the HOF. I am pretty sure winning in the Olympics holds a lot of weight.
