Memphis Grizzlies rookie wing Cedric Coward proclaimed himself "100% cleared" for the start of training camp. Coward had sat out of Summer League while continuing to rehab a partially torn rotator cuff.
"I feel good," Coward said. "The workouts we’re doing now, I feel great in them."
The 6-foot-6 wing was a high-riser ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft. The Grizzlies traded up to acquire Coward with the 11th overall pick in the draft. Now, Coward is ready to go for the preseason.
"That’s the best thing ever," Coward said about being ready to play in camp. "I haven’t played live competition since November. … For me, I do it every day now that I can. I don’t have to hold anything back. I don’t got people telling me to take a break and stuff. It’s like letting the wolves out. That’s what it is."
