The Boston Celtics and Jalen Bridges have agreed to a deal, league sources told @hoopshypeofficial.bsky.social. Bridges will compete for a two-way spot in training camp. Bridges was a two-way player with the Phoenix Suns last season, appearing in eight NBA games.

I liked Bridges in his draft, and seems a good guy to try and develop. He didn't wow in SL, but was pretty solid imo.

I thought him and Brown both looked solid in SL. Brown was a 2nd round pick, Bridges was undrafted.

I'm fine with a training camp battle for the last 2-way spot between Brown, Bridges and Luis. Some competition is good - let the best man win.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It's be lame if we all agreed about everything :)

Krawczynski says Garza is more predictable and has that one great skill. He's a bona fide scorer, but needs to be in lineups that allow him to play despite his weaknesses. Minott has a legit and long NBA body and has shown real skill, but has been inconsistent. Both are working hard.

Forgot to say, one other interesting thing in this pod was the part about how Brad has been quietly trying to get Garza here for a couple of years now. He's had his eye on him for a while and when he became available signed him to a 2 yr GUARANTEED deal, not one. Clearly Brad believes in this kid. I wonder if in the midst of all the Simons talk, and the disappointment of all that we lost this offseason that these Minnesota guys are being dismissed as after thoughts and/or cannon fodder when the commitment made by Brad to these 2 this offseason might suggest that they might be the 2 most important X-factors for this team this upcoming season.

The Celtics making no moves to add another big man means they have confidence in all three of Queta, Garza and Boucher. They're operating at the bare minimum number of large bodies even if Tillman can play.

side note: I'm very glad Queta is getting this opportunity, and I like Boucher. Boucher was exactly the type of guy they needed behind Tatum last season. Toronto sat him because they were afraid he'd ruin their tank.

That's not allowed lol, we can only be at 21.

So I'm assuming someone (probably Aaron Scott? Maybe Gray, maybe Luis? Maybe Harper? Is about to get waived in order to make room for the Brown and Bridges signings.

It's probably Scott, Gray or Harper about to get waived since they are just going to be on regular g league contracts so they don't really need to be at camp..

Yeah. Something has to give. Someone either got Waived, or someone hasn't officially signed yet.

The only requirement is to not have more 21 contracts at any given point. Pretty sure they just announced some of the camp deals before they are actually signed. Some of those guys headed for Maine are going to be signed a training camp deal for a day before getting waived and they'll cycle multiple guys through the last couple roster spots that way.

Kendall Brown played well in the summer league.

I don't know if he makes the cut.

But the guy can play.

A lot of the guys might even get cut before training camp. That allows them to go play in Maine and get that bonus.

Maybe this belongs here. Great production piece to hype our rookies, I wish it was a little longer. We got some quality young men added to the squad, now let's watch them grow.

"Smitty" aka Keith Smith, says that Aaron Scott hasn't officially signed.
But yeah, most of the Ex-10's are likely getting rerouted to Maine.

It will be interesting to see which 20 players (+ Tatum) will be present in Camp.
We can cycle through any number of Exhibit 10's. But, only a Max of 6 at a time can be on the Roster.

Of those Ex-10's that get Waived, (I believe it's still) up to 4 that can become Affiliates in Maine.
An Exhibit-10 who stays in Maine for 60 days (as an Affiliate) will earn a $85,300 Bonus.

That's up to $125,800 ($85,300 Bonus + $40,500 Regular G League Salary) for the Season.

This is a pretty random bump, but I am curious from fans who watched the team 2011-12 (I didnt watch games really this season bc of some health related stuff I was dealing with) but I don't remember why JaJuan Johnson flamed out so rapidly.

He was 6-10, athletic with nice shooting touch, and he was a 1st round pick, played one season with the Celts, got moved right after and never played in an NBA game again. WHat happened?

Here are some highlights, not a fan of the musical selection though (fair warning turn ur volume down) and he looks like at least interesting:

Hayden Gray actually looked pretty interesting in SL, and I'm excited to see him in Maine. His decision making was super quick on offense too, not just going for steals and deflections.

Kind of, yeah. But him and Aaron Scott were both guys who:

a) undrafted
b) were not even considered guys who could maybe get drafted
c) didn't even really get off the bench for our SL team except for like 1 or 2 games at the end of SL..and by that time most teams were resting their good players..like by that time guys like Flagg and Harper and stuff had been shut down and most teams weren't even really trying to win. Like that hawks team we played was sitting like 4 of their 5 best players

I figured it was either Gray or Scott getting waived. Neither is an NBA player imo..both just headed to g league.

yea, Gray would be considered a deep longshot to become an NBA rotation player... but in his small opportunity, he looked good, i thought ... so who knows, he probably had roughly equivalent predraft ranking as Alex Caruso ... but, I'm not predicting anything like Caruso's career, only that I am curious to see him in Maine this year
