Cal Raleigh Passes Ken Griffey Jr. For Mariners HR Record

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Sep 21, 2025 2:35 am

Cal Raleigh hit his 57th home run of the season to overtake Ken Griffey Jr. for the Seattle Mariners\' single-season record.

Earlier this week, Raleigh, who leads the league in homers, broke Mickey Mantle’s record for the most home runs in a single season by a switch hitter with his 55th homer, followed by his 56th an inning later to tie Griffey’s mark, set in 1997 and ’98.

Raleigh needs five home runs to match Aaron Judge’s record for the most homers in a season by an American League player (62).

Raleigh and the Mariners agreed to a six-year, $105 million contract extension with a seventh-year $20 million vesting player option with a $2 million buyout in March.
