2010s Draft - R1 - Jon_3232* vs durantbird

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

PG: Damian Lillard 19' - 19.2
SG: Jason Kidd 10' - 8.4
SF: Kawhi Leonard 17' - 17.7
PF: Kevin Garnett 10' - 11.2
C: Karl-Anthony Towns 18' - 14.3

Bench: Shaun Livingston 17' - 4.2
Bench: Andrei Kirilenko 10' - 8.3
Bench: Boris Diaw 13' - 4.4

87.7/88

PG: Damian Lillard 38 / Jason Kidd 10
SG: Jason Kidd 27 / Shaun Livingston 12 / Kawhi Leonard 9
SF: Kawhi Leonard 29 / Andrei Kirilenko 19
PF: Kevin Garnett 28 / Boris Diaw 14 / Andrei Kirilenko 6
C: Karl-Anthony Towns 38 / Kevin Garnett 10

vs

PG - Steph Curry (38) / Pablo Prigioni (10)
SG - Brandon Roy (38) / Danny Green (8) / Pablo Prigioni (2)
SF - Danny Green (28) / Trevor Ariza (20)
PF - Draymond Green (38) / Trevor Ariza (10)
C - Joel Embiid (38) / Joel Anthony (10)

Matchup:
- Defensive assignments: Kawhi vs Curry, Kidd vs Roy, Lillard vs Green, Towns vs Draymond, Garnett vs Embiid.
- We match up well. Kawhi and Kidd are our POA defenders and will do great job defending Curry-Roy, with Kirilenko and Livingston being able to help there. Garnett will do as good a job as any, defending Embiid. Towns either occupies Draymond fully, taking away from his ability to help on Lillard or Kawhi, or takes away Embiid further from the rim.
- Jon has built a nice foundation, but I think we have the better depth and some great chemistry. Kawhi-Garnett-Kidd-Kirilenko is insane as a defensive foundation, and while Curry-Roy-Embiid is a capable trio, Kawhi-Lillard-Towns-Garnett is a better four, with Kidd rounding out the five, leaving no weak links offensively, as compared to the Green duo. Kirilenko even in 10' is a super role player / glue guy, and is clearly the best sixth man. Livingston and Diaw are also much better than Prigioni and Anthony.
- I think the leadership of Kidd-Garnett-Kawhi paired with two of the best modern spacers in Lillard and Towns, provides us with an incredible foundation, and our defensive identity is very strong.

2015-16 Steph Curry - 20.2 fga
2018-19 Joel Embiid - 18.7 fga
2015-16 Draymond Green - 10.1 fga
2012-13 Danny Green - 8.3 fga
2009-10 Brandon Roy - 16 fga
2012-13 Trevor Ariza - 8.1 fga
2013-14 Pablo Prigioni - 3 fga
2011-13 Joel Anthony - 3 fga

87.4/88 fga

Like my matchup here with my elite shooting, defensive versatility, and a dominant interior presence. Curry and Roy are a dynamic backcourt with elite shot creation, spacing, and playmaking, which will stretch the floor and force mismatches against Lillard and post-prime Kidd. Danny Green and Draymond Green bring championship-level defense , with Draymond in particular able to disrupt Towns and help contain Garnett, who isn’t in his prime form. Embiid anchors the paint, giving me a physical edge inside that neither KAT nor a past-prime Garnett can fully neutralize.

Overall, I think my lineup has the better balance of offense and defense, more consistent spacing, and a prime MVP-level superstar in Curry and Embiid.
