It's so weird to me to listen to this right, like Stroud and TLaw both threw basically the same interception, and with Stroud it's all coddling from the announcers "oh that was just a great play by the DB, nothing you can do about that as a QB" then when TLaw does the same thing it's "that was the worst throw I've ever seen, no NFL QB ever does that"

That and the drops man, Jesus.

2021: Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Mac Jones, Justin Fields - 4 busts and a mid

2024: Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Michael Penix, JJ McCarthy, Bo Nix - we'll see but outside of Jayden Daniels nothing impressive so far

Not Seattle. They love their bridge QB's.

Why waste a draft pick? When you can sign someone who's just as good.

And now Jake browning!!! lol

I've had a theory for a while, of which Nick Wright stole my thunder: in order to become a great QB, you must have a great, intimidating QB name. Imagine playing against a dude named Joe Montana or Dan Marino, that frightens. Playing against someone named Kyler Murray or Bryce Young doesn't move the needle. It sounds ridiculous, but it works. Another example: Cam Newton is a great name. Had he instead gone by Cameron, he would have been a major bust. Peyton Manning? Great name. Ryan Leaf? Terrible name. So I can guarantee you right now, a guy named Cade Klubnik is not going to make it. We don't have great QB names anymore.

Of course there are exceptions to this rule, but still. Steve Young is not a great name, but he was a great QB. Now Vince Young was a great QB name, but he sucked. So if all scouts could throw their reports out of the window and strictly go by this metric that would be great.

Matt Ryan and Josh Allen are mid names, Brett Favre is not even pronounced how its spelled, Patrick Mahomes is a terrible QB name lol

Brett Favre was a great name, it's unique. Alex Smith otoh, very generic, would never be a great QB.

So you're saying if Lamar was named Butch Jackson, he would have won a SB by now?

Cousins in for Penix, is he hurt or is Atlanta pulling the plug already?

Well, how's that been working out for you?

I mean it's not like there's been a ton of great options (draft) recently. Most of the QB's to come out recently have underwhelmed. Which is kind of the point.

Like I’ve said many times. I don’t buy the GB being “juggernauts” talk because of who their QB is.

Love really should be part of the mid off race as well. But he’s surrounded by such a great roster and an elite HC

That was the point of Geno according to you for 4 years. Now you have Darnold. How many you going to go through before getting serious and getting one? Hello. :ouch:

Stroud still has the great rookie season shine on him. The narrative for him will turn drastically by this time next year if he continues to have another meh season

Duke4life831 wrote:I’m officially at the point for the Vikings where I’m fine with just signing cheap youngish vet QBs (ages 27-32) over trying to draft a QB.

Hell I’ll even be cool with trading for Anthony Richardson this off season. Sit him for a year or two. Keep getting guys like Darnold/Jones. And if Richardson never plays no big deal.

But ya I’ll be cool with letting KOC maximize these youngish vet QBs going forward. At minimum, they can clearly come in and game manage really solid

yeah, too many rookie jitters and things to work through with young players. give me guys with experience and some talent that just ended up in a bad situation through the draft and needs a change of scenery
