Newyork, can always cover their ass with that rule, saying because it was not initially ruled a catch. They could have overturned it if they chose to.

With RHBs like Grichuk that can be subbed in with a pitcher that was giving up hit after hit. Not good management to seek out the lefty on lefty when the pitcher you put out there doesn't have it.
Could have also opted for another lefty instead.
They are gonna opt for another lefty here, Lauer will pitch
Problem is when your starter only goes 4 innings, your bullpen has to fill 5 of them
I agree but that's not entirely the point as you have to be short sighted in some cases to even preserve the lead. If your LHP doesn't have it, change to someone who has.
Dominguez did quite well last inning. I recommend they keep him out there even against a lefty or two and can have Lauer behind him. Of course, that won't happen because of this conventional seeking out of playing percentages no matter who is pitching well.

Bottom of the order wins us game after game after game after game.

Despite his putrid offensive #s, I'll give credit to Gimenez for some clutch at bats this season. Well needed.
Clement of course has been solid with contact hitting all year round.
Go Jays!

Will ty France be on the playoffs roster. He hasn't had a meaningful hit in a long time

Eric Lauer as the new closer. Didn't see that one coming

Eric Lauer has sucked the past month, including in all of his relief appearances. Hopefully he can get it done today.

Please leave Lauer in! He's got it today!

That's why I suggested staying with Dominguez but luckily, Lauer seems to have it today. Speaks nothing to this playing of percentage strategy no matter what though. If Gimenez could pitch, they'd insert him over Dominguez.

You’ve gotta completely lose it on the umpire that called that a trap in real time and defend Varsho and your team
You must have not heard the reasoning for the call? It sucks, but it's the right call given that it was called a trap. It's not "evidently a fix" by any means.
lol yeah there could never be a fix in MLB
No history there at all
Did you not read my post? I said that that specific call was evidently not a fix, not that there could never be a fix.
Your reply has absolutely nothing to do with what I said.
