Sam Darnold turns into Darnold Schwarzenegger as long as his interior o line blocks for him.

The thing is though, if he doesn’t have that interior o line protection, he turns into “seeing ghosts” Darnold.

Really no in between for him haha

Holy crap. Quentin Johnston went from bust to pretty damn good. He just made a crazy good catch.

So looks like Quentin Johnston finally learned how to catch the ball over the summer. Now he looks legit good. Can’t lie, I had definitely written him off as a bust

SB hangover

It's deeper than that.

He had 482 touches last season (carries + receptions, including playoffs) and he's turning 29 in February. Running backs can fall off a cliff quickly.

I felt he was declining with the Giants, but then he had a swan song season with the Eagles last season. He just finished with 46 yards on 2.6 ypc. It's something to keep an eye on.

Eh, I think physically he looks just fine. Still explosive, still elusive. I think it’s a combination of having an overachieving season last year and coming back down to earth, and opposing teams game planning for him and selling out to stop him this year. And the Eagles have kind of played into their hands the first two and a half games by constantly force feeding him and barely using Brown and Smith and Goedert. When Hurts finally started throwing the ball more and using his receivers, that’s when Barkley started having some nice runs.

Time for Hampton to step up, but he will. He shows flashes of being really good. He just scored his first td.

He was a lot better last year, at least at the beginning, before going back to drops. But after already having McConkey, drafting Tre Harris and KeAndre Lambert Smith (who looked great in preseason) and Oronde Gadsden at TE, then signing Keenan Allen, I didn't even really think of Quentin Johnston coming into the season.

He probably has the most yards and definitely the most tds. I think he benefits from McConkey and Allen being such threats. Allen was not good last year with the Bears, but he has basically become his old self playing with Herbert again. And him and McConkey are very similar...elite route runners and just great pass catchers....both really good guys to get it to when it's like 3rd and 5.

Oh no, great play by Denver...a fake pitch run on 4th and 5 and they throw a long bomb.

Ya it definitely helps him having McConkey and Allen. Those two just eat up the middle of the field. Defenses have to give those 2 so much attention because if they don’t, Herbert will just take 10-12 yard chunk plays down the field. So it really does make Johnston’s job much easier.

Just good to see him finally taking advantage of those opportunities consistently to start this year. That really helps open up this offense

Just my weekly post about how it’s a crime that Harlan isn’t part of the top play calling team for both football or basketball. Because he’s by far the best in the game at the moment

Ian Eagle is better. Harlan is getting into the Marv Albert senile territory. Especially in basketball.
