How good would be this team?!

Post#1 » by realEAST » Sun Sep 21, 2025 5:36 pm

Luka Doncic
Kris Dunn
Ausar Thompson
Derrick Jones jr.
Nikola Jokic

Cam Thomas
Matisse Thybulle
Dalano Banton
Justin Champagnie
Paul Reed

So, you've got two of the best offensive players in the game and three great defenders with sone clear offensive limitations, most notably, shooting. Still, they are good athletes and cutters, and Jokic and Doncic should create enough widr open look for them to hit 3s at respectable rate; and they are great at creating shots for themselves and hitting even the most difficult ones. But how would cramped floor with no spacing reflect on Doncic and Jokic offensive production?

For the bench, there is an all offense wild card in Cam Thomas, along few of my fetish players, who have shown flashes of being good two way role players, but had no continuity (regarding opportunity or performance) so far.

How good would this team be?

This is really hard question, since you have Luka and Joker, but then everyone around them are awful, in a sense they can't shoot and just seem like a terrible fit. I do not think this would be a contender even with Luka and Jokic, fit is just dumb, no shooting, no rim protection.

Very good lmao albeit maybe not as much as one would expect due to somewhat awkward fits

Jokic and luka have somewhat uncomplementary playstyles, lack of shooters minimizes their stars offense ceiling and their own defensive limitations limits the defensive ceiling

It probably would be somethingh like a -4 or -5 offense with a strong +3 or +4 offense out of luka amd jokic individual scoring brilliance

Doncic likes to complain to officials instead of running back on defense, so its not good when Doncic has great defensive players in his team, it makes him even worse of a person than he already is.

You have a great 1 and 2 option, but not much else. You need Ausur and/or Cam to have career seasons while improving areas of weakness they have. Beyond that it’s practically an expansion team. Play in tournament if the 1st 4 have very good-great seasons

A contender for sure, but not a favorite.
OKC, Celtics with a healthy Tatum, Cleveland and maybe the Knicks might be better.
It would be interesting to see how Doncic and Jokic work together.

They're a top seed, two superstars and a few solid role players. Cam Thomas offense would be much needed, thus he'd get starter minutes.

Why do you think Luka is a bad person?

Doncic has only played 70 games twice in his career (exactly 70 in 2023-24, and 72 in 2018-19) and Cam Thomas has never played 70 (though some of that was because of DNPs).

Because Doncic's got the worst personality in the NBA, he chooses to complain instead of play defense. I've never seen a worse person in the NBA.
Even the players who get technical fouls don't complain as consistently as Doncic... in fact a lot of the technical foul guys are great defenders.

Oh, I thought he bit his wife, cheated with salary money or shot someone.

When I read the news I really wish the worst people in the world would just complain to referees and lead the team to Finals instead of leading wars. Good to you.

I don't know of any NBA players who beat their wife or shoot people. And I don't care about salaries... but I've spoke about this before, and sometimes I say Doncic has the worst "on-court personality" in the NBA.
But anyone who puts their team (defense) last, and only cares about mouthing off to the officials, is the worst.

They need their defenders so badly. I would like to put one rim protector on the roster instead of Thybulle (Lively?)

They will really struggle with the bench and overall shooting. When Luka and Jokic are out, this team has basically no PG to rely on. In the West, this might be a 4-7 seed. In the East, a 2-5 seed. Very good team, but not great fit overall. Cool idea, thanks!

...would be ripe for a shot blocker/lob thread like Duren or Lively + a decent backup PG, like Tyus Jones
Cheers

They'd fit well on the Lakers. Joker would be a great robin.

That would be an excellent team, maybe even a championship team. Good defenders like Thybulle to cover for Jokic and Doncic.

We had plenty of rapists, gang members and women beaters in the NBA, some are fully known in the NBA today, and to you Doncic is worst person in the NBA? I can agree he has bad personality as a player, but that does mean he is bad person, like seriously, what kind of take this is? We have seen many lazy players on the court, it does not mean they were bad people... Also, Doncic played great defense in Eurobasket, when he really cares, he tries at least, so we will see how he does from here on out.

Not as good as this team:
Shawn Bradley
Frank Brickowski
Danny Ferry
Craig Ehlo
John Crotty

Keith Closs
Brad Lohaus
Clarence Weatherspoon
Brent Barry
Dana Barros

Just a supreme mix of skill, class, shooting and sexual tension. . .
