I think this version of Barkley is a bit underrated, but I recall the response being not great when I took him.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

19/14/5/1 All Star, MVP (16), still a great player

I could happily go the rest of my life without doing another draft where the Knicks are a category.

It's better than doing a Dwight draft where you need to have a Hawk, a Wizard and a Hornet

The All Star turned bench category is actually pretty deep. Not many guys who are still stars- Ginobili was a bit of a unicorn in that regard, but plenty of usable role players. I drafted 3 different guys who easily could have been used for it, and all three could have been used in at least one other category in this game two of them had multiple other potential categories.

Lol. We should do that next.

I think these scavenger hunt style drafts need at least one category that lacks many traditional options. I’d actually argue that the Hawks aren’t THAT bad. The Hornets are fairly bad. And the Wizards amaze me that they’ve existed so long with so few draftable options.

The Knicks and Nuggets are only rough categories if you wait on them.

Okay let's ask the public about my last pick

Four options for my last pick: Reggie Evans 07', Kosta Kufous 12', Dahntay Jones 09', Torrey Craig 20'

My current squad:
durantbird wrote:PG: Shai Gilgeous Alexander 25' - 21.8 - OKC
SG: Clyde Drexler 91' - 16.3 - Portland
SF: Jaylen Brown 19' - 10.7 - Third pick
PF: PJ Tucker 18' - 5.4 - Houston
C: Anthony Davis 20' - 17.7 - Lakers

Bench: Pablo Prigioni 13' - 3.0 - Knicks
Bench: Andrei Kirilenko 09' - 8.5 - All Star turned bench
Bench:

PG: Shai Gilgeous Alexander 38 / Pablo Prigioni 10
SG: Clyde Drexler 38 / Jaylen Brown 8 / Pablo Prigioni 2
SF: Jaylen Brown 30 / Andrei Kirilenko 18
PF: PJ Tucker 34 / Andrei Kirilenko 14
C: Anthony Davis 38 / xxx 10

Evans and Kufous will naturally slot into my backup C position - the former more of a hustle guy and elite rebounder, the latter a more traditional rim protector with more size. Jones/Craig will play as another wing stopper, and in this route Tucker or Kirilenko play backup C.

Made a pretty drastic change going from Prime Harden to 6man of the year Harden and taking Penny, but I like the team better having the penny/Shaq duo, more fun anyway
