Senate just UNANIMOUSLY passed Charlie Kirk Day and Hakeem Jeffries in the House indicated he would do the same (despite having not yet endorsed Mandani in NYC)

Not too long ago pardoning someone who is taking bribes on your behalf during your administration would be grounds for immediate impeachment and throwing you in jail afterwards. I miss democracy.

Alright conservative lurkers, where's your finger wagging about civility? Or is Biden reaping what he sowed?

Charlie Kirk was always a stupid, evil guy. A mean SOB. Not working out too well for him right now. So, when you start feeling sorry for him, remember he's a bad guy.

Golfy announces the biggest medical news in history is coming tomorrows brought to you by RFK and Oz.

Apparently it's about autism. I'm guessing they'll claim they've identified the smoking vaccine gun.

Goes on to claim we're getting incredibly rich from
the tariffs other countries are paying us.

The fascist Trump regime will officially attempt to link acetaminophen (Tylenol/Paracetamol/...) to autism/ADHD.

Regarding tariffs, it is incredible to me that the capital Ds still haven't gotten the message through that tariffs are a tax paid for BY THE PEOPLE.

It is a **** layup and these geriatrics are still playing checkers.

Worse. It’s a slush fund for grift. There’s no controls on where the money goes.

Trump is right that ‘we’ are getting rich off it, just depends who We is.

Tax implies they’re funding anything with it. They are charging us extra on foreign goods so they can keep the money for themselves. It goes into the General Affairs budget. The spending of which is overseen solely by the White House. Not earmarked for anything in particular. Just discretionary moneys to do with whatever they like.

This is a bit of a difficult read but (IMO) it is important as it answers many of the questions on free speech (that are being attached today).

Oh is that where popehat went when he left twitter. Yeah, I'm all for censorship- by private citizens. It's how you hold people accountable. Not the government. The government should not use the terrifying power of its monopoly on violence to penalize wrongthink. Ever.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this. That aspect hadn't occurred to me. Maybe could start calling them the tax and steal Republicans.

Vs the spend but don't tax Republicans. I guess that went out the window when they put the largest tax increase in place (in the last 100 years).

Pretty simple. The Congressional GAO has no oversight over the White House's General Affairs budget. The tariffs go directly to that general fund, and are entirely discretionary monies decided upon by the President. So while they are robbing money from the people by failing to fund items we have voted into by law, they are also stealing money from our paychecks at the store by jacking up prices and paying themselves with the higher cost of living. They are grifting by requiring businesses like Intel to give them 10% of the company, nationalizing it, while complaining about socialism. Extorting free legal care from large law firms. Creating their own crypto currency. Pretty much everything that is being done is solely to feed the profit or ego of one man. There is no such thing as an emoluments clause.

The scary thing really is how brazen it is. Inasmuch as they will get away with it for as long as they are in power since if the pendulum ever swung the other way there would be prosecutions and impeachments. They are so nakedly open about it though that you get the feeling they have figured out a way that they're sure there will never be a re-correction. I think all they need is to keep things plausibly close, then claim fraud on the opponents and simply not give up power. Like Jan 6 but now they have moved the military into the nations capital so they can enforce the big lie with firepower. And look forward to protests and unrest so they can escalate there too.

I'm registered republican after switching my affiliation post-covid. Based on my views today, In 1998, I would be considered solidly conservative. In 2010, I would be considered moderate. Now in 2025 I'm a "far left loon'. If anything, I moved to the right slightly the last decade but compared to the right wingers, I'm extremely liberal. The right for years screamed how dems were only moving further to the left but in reality its been the exact opposite.

I doesn't feel like we're far off from where Germany was at poltically in the early 1930s.

The most hilarious part was seeing guys like Ben Shapiro advocate on behalf of Jimmy Kimmel by calling for "social consequences" over government restriction of speech.

Did these morons miss the part where the right wing derposphere has been characterizing "social consequences" as "cancel culture" for the past ten years?

It boggles the mind.
