Eli IMHO had the better career I think Russ' superbowl is more to do with the legion of boom that carried that team

Eli is 11th in TDs, 11th in yards, 12th in game winning drives, and he beat Tom Brady head to head for two superbowls. Aside from his name boost, he’s cake walking in.

The Giants play the Chargers, the Eagles, the Broncos, the Eagles again, the Niners, the Packers and the Lions in their next 9 weeks. This is where you go to Jameis, who is 100% going to lose you some games by himself, but is also going to win you a few games by himself. He is the perfect bridge guy, so you can throw Dart in when the schedule is a little softer late season and the pressure is off. Going to him now would not be a good move.

I know for a fact that every single coach that has the Giants on their schedule wants to face Jameis the least. Too unpredictable.

I think they are waiting a bit to put Eli in but Eli should get in before Wilson. Hell Stafford and Rogers get in before Wilson at least for me

On the tush push which led to the first TD the RG moved early, nothing called.

Rams should be livid about the non calls but then again they didn’t adjust their defense to Eagles lining up trips on one side and Brown on the other side to get single coverage.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Eagles pulled something against the rules on the FG blocks.

Rams had plenty of non-calls, too, for example blatant OPI on the Davante Adams TD.

If Russell Wilson plays like 2-3 more years he will basically have this same resume too in addition to all the rushing stats.

Point is, both players weren’t really ever the best players or among the best players at their position but both were “very good” for a very long time. Both have longevity on their side.

They really gotta stop putting these dudes on prime time. It's like the NBA making the Grit & Grind Grizzlies from 10 years ago the marque match-up. Nobody wants to watch the Chiefs crawl to 20 points and Mahomes going for 200 years with 1 TD and an INT.

I think stafford and Rodgers have a better case than the other two.

Yeah the refs already established earlier in the game that davante adams was allowed to push off so AJ did the same thing. Seems fair.

I was thinking the same thing, i hate in the NFL and NBA where dudes become journeyman at the end of their careers.

I know they still love the sport and make millions but it's hard to watch.

Why does anyone care about the HoF? Most fans will not only never visit the place in person, they won’t even go to the official website to see any webpages about the players.

Millions more will watch plays made by players, both those in the HoF and those who are not in the HoF, on YouTube and social media. I’m not even sure older fans care about career stats, where they rank all time. I used to as a kid but I don’t follow them any more. I know generally that Brady and Arod are way up there in all-time QB stats and LeBron owns or will have most scoring stats in the NBA.

These players are among the best players ever and whether they are formally inducted or not makes no difference to most fans. Especially now young fans who only watch highlights.

Russ will be remembered as well even if he doesn’t get inducted. As a playmaker and game manager carried by better players. Also probably will be remembered for blowing that SB.

Eli will be remembered not for his career stats but for beating Eli twice in the SB including denying the Pats an undefeated season. HoF will be irrelevant to whether people remember these feats. Millions have already watched the key clips from those two SB victories and millions more will.

I wouldn’t describe it as blatant, Adams pushes against the corner which threw off his timing on the jump but he did a good job of not extending his arm which is when the refs usually call OPI. That call virtually never gets made unless the arm is extended, Adams made a veteran move knowing exactly what he is allowed to get away with.

The false start on the tush push would have also been very hard to see in real time without the benefit of slow motion replay. I’m fine with the no-calls on both plays. The refs are not what decided the game. The lack of execution on special teams decided the game for LA.

Fun fact:

According to pro football reference, there are 24 teams with 3 or fewer dropped passes this year

The Jaguars are averaging 3 per game.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

Almost all those stats are product of the era he played in and he'll likely be outside of top 50 after current generation has time to accumulate numbers.

He wasn't a top 5 QB in the league at any point of his career, probably not even top 10 half the time. He wasn't even that great in the two super bowls, in 08 he wouldn't even be a top ten candidate for the mvp if his name wasn’t Manning.

I think you are lowering the standards of the Hall Of Fame if you let players like Eli Manny and Russell Wilson get in. Holy Moly.

I know this will largely go unnoticed given how terrible we are, but the Browns got a damn stud in Graham.
