The question is does Jerry continue to stick with Dak. He’s financially married to him for at least 1 more season.
The real question is, who do you turn to? Because the QB's at the college level, don't look all that promising at the moment. It's an underwhelming group to say the least.
They do have options this time around. Allar seems to be the best prospect by all accounts. With 4 FRP’s they could potentially get any QB in this draft if they want. Now that doesn’t mean the QB will be worth it but there’s a chance they could be. Choosing QB is an inexact science. Just because you are good in college doesn’t mean that will translate to the NFL. And vice versa, just because you were not one of the top QB’s in college doesn’t mean you will suck at the next level.
Josh Allen wasn’t considered the best QB in college his final year. If I remember correctly he also wasn’t a top Heisman candidate. He seems to be doing well in the NFL. So there’s a good chance that one of the top QB’s will have NFL success. The question is would Jerry actually draft a QB high in round 1. I’m not convinced he will.
He could also go with a much cheaper retread like Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins, or someone of that ilk. These are lateral moves at QB though when compared to Dak. The only reason they do this is to save money. I wouldn’t be upset with this move if they also drafted a young QB in the 2nd round or end of the 1st round. Groom that guy behind a cheap retread.
That’s what I would do but I’m pretty sure Jerry will not do that. He will stay with Dak and just use the 1sts they got from Green Bay to add another TE or OL.
