Wow, haven’t seen Lamar Jackson looks so mortal. He is completely neutralized by the pass rush.

Derrick Henry and Saquon are both going to come crashing back down to earth this season. Who falls off and gets waived first? My guess is still Saquon.

In the playoffs, he’ll randomly forget to use his legs for long stretches at a time. During the regular season, it’s almost expected to see him juking his way out of two or three rushers; however, this game he was contained really well by the Lions. That takes a lot of discipline by the defense.
Credit to Detroit, maybe that loss to Green Bay week 1 was pure fluke. Now GB is coming back to earth while Detroit is getting back on track.

Re: Week 3 Thread
On 4th&2 with less than two minutes left Campbell just casually decides to go for it. Gutsy yet winning move, but also a logical move. Giving the ball back to Lamar is a much, much bigger gamble. The point is, you just know Harbaugh would've punted the hell out of it were he in a similar situation. The man saw Josh Allen on the other side of the field and thought *yeah, I'll take my chances*.
I can't really take the Ravens seriously until I see otherwise from their coaching.

Wentz average time to throw yesterday: 2.5 seconds
So Wentz was getting the ball out half a second quicker and that is also with Darrisaw being back.
That half a second is huge in the NFL. Until JJ can improve his processing time, he needs to stay on the bench. It’s not like Wentz lit it up yesterday, but he showed he could be a solid game manager. And this what this offense needs. Be a solid game manager and let the skill guys make the plays.
I'm kind of worried about the potential of Wentz starting the two games in Europe and looking decent, then the Vikings try to go back to McCarthy after the bye against the Eagles, Ravens and Chargers. That seems like it could be just setting him up for failure. People will immediately be calling for his head.
It probably makes the most sense to let Wentz keep playing as a long as he looks decent.
Doesn't this make KOC look questionable? It can't be a surprise that the kid wasn't ready or didn't get rid of the ball fast enough. That would show up in practice, yet KOC put him out there.
Or maybe he was expected to start McCarthy because the front office deemed it so, though after the win over the Bears, he sounded like he believed in the kid.
It can't be a surprise by the beginning of the season, but at that point the decision had already been made. The Vikings went into camp with McCarthy and Sam Howell, and obviously they didn't feel all that great about Sam Howell either.

why would they trade for that headcase when they're already loaded with talent on offense?

Re: Week 3 Thread
IDK, I thought Lamar just showed why he's not the best.
First of all, I just think he's a horrible leader. He's constantly blaming everyone else for their mistakes and has horrible body language whenever things go wrong. Second of all, he tries too hard to make these spectacular plays and often takes these awful sacks for massive losses. And you also just can't rely on him down the stretch of games, unless he's stat padding.
Prove me wrong. Everyone wants to blame Mark Andrews for their loss to the Bills in the playoffs, but Lamar is the one that put them in a big hole in the first place with two awful turnovers.
I'd take Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Joe Burrow over Lamar Jackson.

Re: Week 3 Thread
Fun fact (all stats according to pro-football-reference):
Trevor Lawrence has an on target percentage of 81.5%, which is 4th in the league (3rd among QBs with more than 1 start), which would be a career high for him. His completion% is 55.8, which would be a career low
The Jags lead the league in drops, at 14. 2nd is the Titans, at 8.

This leads me to the conclusion that Daboll should be fired immediately. He is no longer operating in the best interest of the Giants, but merely about what is best for him, trying to survive at all cost.
Jaxson Dart shall die for Daboll's sins.
