Franz Wagner & Trey Murphy should already be Warriors

All Joe Lacob had to do was draft them. It was that easy. Instead, Lacob passed on both -- actually passing on Murphy twice.

Joe Lacob and his children should not be making basketball decisions. Steph Curry is the only thing keeping this team out of the basement.

I would be careful with that kind of accusation if I were you. Joe Lacob is to the Warriors what Donald Trump is to the U.S. He knows best. He always knows best. And, his sons know best too. Anyone who says otherwise is a talentless Jimmy Kimmel. Listen to Melania when she tells you "Be best." :D

We should have drafted Franz and Sengun, in hindsight.

If only GM’s had hindsight! Man that would be great. If I had hindsight I wouldn’t have sold the hundreds of shares of NVDA stock I owned in 2009. HINDSIGHT!

They probably could have them now even without drafting them, if they were willing to give up say 2 FRPs each plus a few players like JK, Moody, Podz, etc. Which is what they should be doing. If Steph retires and you don't want to build around those players, turn them back into picks, they will still be valued around the league.

Wouldn't it have been fun if the Dubs had been allowed to bid on Luka - Say, Draymond, salary filler and two first round picks - So that we didn't have to have dumb conversations about what could have been in a draft four years ago? What am I saying? That couldn't possibly have been allowed. It would have violated Adam Silver's plan to keep the Lakers relevant.

It is a truism that the retrospectoscope is by far the most accurate diagnostic modality known to medical science.

I am sure this also applies outside of medicine.

Half the league passed on Murphy

JK wasn’t an egregious pick talent-wise, more of a mistake in fit since we were a veteran team and he was a raw upside play

Moody was a good pick, it just didn’t work out

The problem was that, after being persuaded by his dumb sons to trade for Smailagić in the 2019 draft, Lacob was afraid to grab another big white European power forward in the 2021 draft. So, in the end, the entire family ended up looking like idiots. :noway:

Yeah, I have to say that when OKC took Giddey with #6 and both Franz and Kuminga were sitting there, I was hoping they’d take Franz.

And when Sengun kept falling (I was stunned that the Spurs didn’t take him with their pick), I was praying we’d take him.

Nobody honestly expected Murphy to go in the lottery, so while we can say we missed out on him, it would have been a surprise if we would have “reached” for him at the time. Neither Wagner nor Sengun (him in particular) would have been a reach.

That draft kills me, because as the Warriors were on the clock each time, I wanted them to take Wagner and Sengun, only to see them pass both up.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?
