Steal. A PO would make it a bit more fair.

The Giddy deal works-out for both sides, they have some stability and will probably be aggressive in the next free agency as their cap outlook is favorable next season.

Not sure where to put this question. If the Clips are found to have conspired to circumvent the salary cap while Winger was their #2 FO person is there any way he gets punished? I can’t imagine there will be a direct link so I doubt it, but I was wondering if the Clippers stink from this could affect him.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Good question.
I doubt Winger gets implicated. Usually, the penalties only affect the team (i.e. the owner), not individual decision-makers. I suppose it's possible that Kawhi and/or his agent also get punished, but that would probably be the extent of it. If they did try and punish management as well, it would surely only be the top guy.

Silver better do something. You know Stern would have. Doing nothing sends an awful message to the rest of the league.

I know the right punishment... move 'em to Omaha.

Maybe it's just my feed but has anyone ever seen an undrafted rookie with no overseas pro experience get so much preseason hype as Ryan Nembhard? He's getting more than any of the 2nd round picks and even more than some of the late 1st rounders. Trying to remember the last time I saw this much hype for an undrafted player in preseason.

Older brother just helped carry a team to the finals?

And yet no one is excited about Thanasis Antetokounmpo returning to the Bucks. J/K

FVV tore his ACL. I wonder if Nat's guy Sheppard will step up.

I feel badly for Houston, this was their year to go for it after years in the wilderness.

His injury won't be as big as you think... I think between Shepherd getting more run, Thompson improving into there lead initiator, and just improvements across the board from other could eat this loss, but it does dig into there depth in the backcourt.....
Definitely a blower for the Rockets though....

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves - Part 8
Houston could start the most gargantuan lineup in the modern era:
PG Amen
SG Durant
SF one of Eason, DFS, Jabari
PF Sengun
C Adams
Houston would grab ALL the rebounds.
Although without FVV, they may choose to go a little smaller up front in order to get another respectable shooter on the floor. So maybe Adams comes off the bench and Sengun starts at center with Jabari starting at PF.

Fred Van Vleet is one of the most underrated players of all times.TheBlackCzar wrote:closg00 wrote:I feel badly for Houston, this was their year to go for it after years in the wilderness.

Show Play-by-play reveals his + On/Off status with Toronto and Houston.
Van Vleet is always a plus on the court.
He's had a 54-point game.
He's had a 20 assists game.
He's had 2 triple-doubles.
FVV is a complete player who Houston will sorely miss.

Walker Kessler looks to be an UFA next season. Might be a good pairing with Sarr or a depth big. A bit dependent on how the youngsters develop this season and where we pick.

Won't he be a restricted free agent?
What would stop Utah from matching our offer?

A swap of McCollum for FVV could make sense. McCollum replaces FVV so that Houston can still contend.
We get a younger, better version of McCollum for next year, and one that will probably have trade value next summer. We could probably squeeze a little extra out of Houston in the deal since we're giving up a viable player in exchange for a guy who will be injured all season.
