3 game series is wack. The players and us fans deserve 5 games.

It sucks but I'm prepared for the end tonight.

+1 for the loss of betnijah and kayla. betnijah especially. those wings mattered like a MF. tash helped mitigate the losses to an extent, but not the same.

i'm prepared for the end tonight, but i'm not gonna act like i expect them to lay down again.

every team in this playoffs has been worthy. this has already been one of the best i've seen overall. and our chip aside, the most fun i've had watching the postseason since that chicago/phoenix run kah copper was on the other side of.

thanks for everything, thibs.

I haven't been following, but what has happened to the Liberty? I assumed when Jonquel Jones came back they'd be rolling again.

Jonquel Jones only plays well when her 3 is falling. But Stewie got injured twice leaving Sabrina to create most of the offence. Too many injuries this year.

The combination of the Jonquel Jones/Breanna Stewart injuries, plus the overuse of Sabrina Ionescu contributed to how the Liberty severely underperformed in the season, and with the depth questions rearing their ugly head (Betnijah Laney's season-ending injury was a huge reason for the bench underperforming) along with Stewart not at 100% I'm not surprised by the early exit.

love sandy and think this is a bit of a raw deal. but i also saw a lot of continuity problems all season long. they were inconsistent during the championship season, but consistent enough to win most of the time and when it mattered.

this season there were so many games and long stretches where there was no ball or player movement. i did think that reflected poorly on sandy.

sucks. she'll be missed. thanks for finally getting us one, legend.

I don't like it either, but JVG summed up the reasons why I think they let her go.

Stewie was covering up a LOT of issues and once she went down, we were screwed.

They didn't have that reliable 2nd ball handler (Betnijah was out for the season, didn't replace Vandersloot), yet that was the coach's fault?
They had injuries that impacted not only the starters (using a lot of Sabrina), but the bench as well (again, lack of a second ball handler).

i thought natasha cloud was a very clear attempt to replace vandersloot's contributions.

i also often wondered why the leash was so short for johannes. a textbook combo guard, but a playmaker who i thought could help move the ball.

i didn't say it's her fault. i said it reflects poorly on the coach. the end results always do.

my first sentence reflects my primary feelings on this. but, with my usual appeal for nuance, i do see some on-court stuff that could have influenced this decision. could it all have been better with consistent health? of course. but it probably also could have been better than it went.

Do you mean off the bench? Marine Johannes was supposed to be that but she kinda fell into the dog house....which isn't surprising because La Magicienne might score 10 points and give up 15

I was fine with the ball handling in the first unit between Sab and Tash.

Again, not having BLH and KT hurt bad. We were spoiled last year having those two and Leo on the wing.

Marine's defense was pretty bad this season, and I love her but I understand why Sandy lost confidence. Still, I wouldn't have benched her like that.

It's not all on Sandy and honestly I felt that Jonquel let go of the rope towards the end, as well as the injuries...it was too much to overcome
