I used to be all-in for Sarr playing the bulk of his minutes at C but my thinking on that has changed somewhat.

While Sarr and Holmgren might be similar physically there’s an important difference in skillset, which is Sarr’s ability to pass, handle and put the ball on the floor and attack the basket. From what I’ve seen, those aren’t really things that Chet does well.

That difference in skill set will make Sarr more effective operating from outside in than Chet.

Also, playing Sarr big minutes at PF alongside a sturdy interior rebounder at C frees Alex up defensively to patrol the perimeter without having to worry about also being the Zards primary rebounder.

Of course, I do see Sarr playing some minutes at C but I’m beginning to see him better suited to play big minutes at PF.

Hartenstein is the kind of guy who's often overlooked, which means there must be someone like him out there.

Rinse & repeat for the undrafted Lu Dort.

We are still at 16 regular roster players, meaning - as we know - someone has to go. It might happen via a trade, but it also might come down to simply cutting a player.

In the latter case, I'd been assuming it would be Malaki Branham who'd go, but now I'm starting to think it might be Dillon Jones.

Branham, the #20 pick in 2022, is still only 22 years old, while Jones, tho taken last year, is already 24.

There might be reason to imagine Branham has more of an upside -- tho he's had 3 seasons & shown really nothing. Last year he was a bit better than he'd been -- but that was in only 429 minutes, so there's really no way to draw a positive conclusion.

I'd trade either guy for a R2 pick. In fact I'd trade the pair of them for a single R2 pick.... :)

Other GMs and front offices can count. Why would
offer something of value unless they really wanted
someone? Of course if they did they'd conceal that.

They look good now that they're not the satin pajama material. Can we get an alternate court? I want to see a black court with gold lines and paint. That would sizzle.

Ha! I mean. They also have Gill. But he’s clearly a Wizard for life.

Read an article confirming that Ace Bailey’s agent absolutely tried to steer the kid to the Wizards. Noting the interesting fact that the agent, Omar Cooper, is the father of Sharife Cooper who we just picked up for the preseason.

The dad clearly just wants a reason to move to DC. :D

Oh-well. I hope that Tre and Ace will be of equal talent at their perspective positions. Tre will be a nice consolation prize if he becomes a star shooting guard in the league, even if Ace becomes an elite all star talent.

Or else one or the other or both could bust. Or be ordinary. Whatever.

Looks like the offseason is basically over.

Best move - Cam Whitmore trade.
Honorable mention - Hornets picking Kon Kneuppel so we could get either Ace Bailey or Tre Johnson. Maybe also dumping Poole.

Worst move - Dillon Jones trade. Dude showed nothing.
HM - Malachi Branham/Olynyk trade.

Head scratching/WTF - Gill back again.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

According to Chase Hughes, Sarr grew a half-inch, which makes him just over 7' tall. Though with guys that tall, they probably fluctuate by a half-inch depending on the time of day they are measured. (You are taller in the morning when there is more water in your spinal column.)
