Media day is different now. Usually we’d be hyping up some young player cause of the amount of muscle they put on or something they been working on in the offseason. Now we just care about winning a chip.

Here we go!

Looking forward to seeing Yabuty slide right in to be everything the Knicks and fans hope for in a big forward.

Also, will be interesting to see how the offense looks this season, under Thibs it started out hot last season but cooled as the season wore on, so I won't let the early season influence me too much. I want it to look diversified after the new years, the all-star break and into the playoffs.

Everyone wants to see more Brunson-KAT PnRs, we also want to see the ball movement without so much reliance on Brunson to generate looks. Also fun to see what the bench looks like with a legitimate professional scorer coming off it like the Knicks haven't had in a few years.

I think people will be pleasantly surprised what the Knicks get out of MoDi this season as a 3/4 in the mold of a poor man's Siakam. He's a rookie so there will be growing pains but it wouldn't surprise me if he winds up getting 15mpg even ahead of Paco who I think is probably still a project.

The trades last offseason created the intrigue, but this season it's the coaching change. Brown has typically gotten his teams out to fast starts and with a vet group who have played together for a season let's hope it can happen again.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

If Brogdon is going to play a key backup PG role then Deuce is starting next to Brunson.

It goes along the lines of what Mike Brown wants (floor spacing) and great POA defense.

It then allows the guard rotation off the bench to be Brogdon and Clarkson with Hart/Yabu at the forward and Mitch at the 5.

It also allows us to manage Mitch's minutes and not need to rely on him to play starters minutes early in the season.

I dig that. What that means for the double big lineup? See it more or less?

You will certainly still see KAT with Mitch especially some specific matchups.

But we know KAT is unlocked on offense when your force a center to have to guard him...playing Brunson/McBride/Bridges/OG with KAT you can't put your center one any of there 4 because they all can shoot. So our KAT advantage at center is back.

Time where you need the rim protection and grind it out with KAT and Mitch or Mitch and Yabu off the bench. But I think starting games with such offensive fire power is great. Also allows Mikal to move off the ball on defense which he's more effective at and you have your best POA defender in the game.

This allows Brogdon and Clarkson to come off the bench together as a team. They compliment each other fine.

If Mitch starts, then I'm very curious about who is supposed to do the drive and kicks that are supposedly supposed to provide Jalen with open C&S opportunities.

Well, that answers the starting lineup question even though it seemed pretty obvious to me Hart was coming off the bench.

I don't know if I'd say he was holding them back. But a different playbook will do wonders.

Very true - just not sure Mike Brown's is the one.

I can't get hyped for Mike Brown. He's just incredibly mediocre.

Let's hope our talent can carry him to the promised land.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Going to be interesting to see if he uses KAT as a passing hub like we did with Randle to generate open 3s

KAT too clumsy with the ball. But I guess it really depends if the C or PF is guarding KAT. If they put a wing back on KAT, KAT isn't quick enough to have that kind of gravity.

I feel like this has been debunked a few times. Shams don't have insiders in NY.

Oh yes and that comment as well. I'm sure Mikal will get some more on ball duty. But OG certainly isn't a drive and kick guy.

McBride maybe will get some more on ball duty as well.

Hart will probably take a lot of on ball duties off the bench since Brogdon/Clarkson/Yabu play with him they can all space the floor.

Makes sense.

But Deuce is 5'10 at best. I'm very worried about the backcourt's height.

But I was a leaning into Mitch starting and Hulk getting the 10th man minutes because there's no way Brown is comfortable with Hart/Deuce/Clarkson/Yabu.

“Guys will get opportunities to play throughout the year”

“Brunson already taking to ball movement in optional workouts will have ball down the stretch so keep him fresh with catch and shoot 3s.”

“Physical defense, want people to feel us”

“ run and spray the ball”
