Create the greatest offense of all time

Post#1 » by mdonnelly1989 » Tue Sep 23, 2025 8:49 pm

Team #1:

PG: Steph
SG: MJ
F: Larry Bird
F: Lebron James
C: Jokic

Imagine MJ driving to kick out to Steph or Jokic finding Steph or Lebron/ Bird finding Steph. :o Steph maybe the worset offensive player here but because of his ball movement I'm running the offense thorugh him. I considered Magic at PG and Steph at SG. But MJs scoring is too muhc to pass up.

Team #2: (None of the same players)

PG: Magic
SG: Ray Allen
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Dirk
C: Shaq

Magic surrounded by shooters and the alley oop to Shaq is INSANE

Same as yours except Durant instead of Lebron.

Jokic
Durant
Bird
Jordan
Curry

I think this beats your teams ORTG.

I would keep LeBron as PG and take away Bird. LeBron/Jordan fast break and Jokic full court to LeBron ally-ops would be fun to watch. Curry/Durant/Jokic have provided more than enough range and spacing.

Quite easy IMHO.
Jokic, Giannis, LeBron, Durant, Curry.

Yes, I know I left Jordan out. I believe this 5 fit better.

I can see that.

I prefer mine as prime Durant is also a gazelle on the fast break and would also excel as a rim finisher. He used to get downcourt in 5 steps on the young Thunder. You also don't need more ballhandling with Jokic, Jordan and Curry. Bird is maybe the best connective tissue player in nba history and Jokic + Jordan makes Lebron somewhat redundant.

But these are hair splits. If the team I put is a 100, yours is 99.

All I know is that such a team must have Curry and Jokic on it. These two have the most obvious offensive synergy I can think of.

Awkward fit. Not enough shooting and two bigs clogging the paint.

Curry
Klay
Durant
Lebron
Jokic

LeBron runs the point, dumps to Jokic, finds a Warrior for 3 point spamming, or Lebron cutting in Aaron Gordon’s role.

Not enough posts here are valuing shooting.

Would that team be ok with Jordan shooting 30 shots and wanting to every possession? When Bron standing there drawing up a play in his head, Curry standing around not playing D wanting to get some shots off too.. Jokic wanting the ball to create plays too.. it’s only one ball and the other players aren’t necessarily pippen.. Bron can play team ball obviously but what would they be playing for and would his interest level be where it’s supposed to be.. now I ain’t saying it wouldn’t work I’m just saying it’s not as simple as you would like when setting these teams up hypothetically

Bron could be that guy taking a step back if every other player on the court is offensive minded and he’s just out there having fun imo (like team USA) but not when you have one aggressive offensive player and the rest more pass first players too :dontknow:

Pretty much had the OP's team but Lebron at PG:

PG - Lebron (can run the break and finish)
SG - Steph (greatest shooter)
SF - Jordan (he's MJ)
PF - Bird (greatest off-ball player imo)
C - Jokic (most efficient center offensively)

Alternate team:

PG - Magic
SG - Steph
SF - Jordan
PF - Bird
C - Shaq

I realize Shaq's free throw % sucks but he still scores at a high rate in the paint and puts the other team into foul trouble. That still counts for a lot. He can also run the break with Magic and MJ on the wings.

Bron
Steph
Kawhi
KD

I'm not sure about the 5. I kind of don't want to go Jokic on this team because there's way too much on-ball. I want just a monster rim-runner and voracious rebounder, but I don't want Shaq because he's gonna demand post-ups and dump piss on people's heads.
