BREAKING NEWS: Anthony Davis practiced.
This is the big event coming out of Dallas. A player making 54 million a year practicing because he's so often out that this is so newsworthy.

For both of these, the main problem is those guys all can't be traded until 12/15, so the team has to go almost 2 months of games without a veteran PG to hold the fort down. If Houston is willing to wait, these guys are all preferable to Adams or Eason?
Yeah, they'll go ~20 games w/o FVV, and wait for a buyout for CJ or sign Brogdon, trial by fire for Sheppard and Amen as lead PGs.
Yeah, I don’t know why I typed a question mark. Should have been a period, as I agree that dealing Green, Holiday, or Tate are all preferable to Eason/Adams now.

Utah waives KJ Martin. I liked him, one of the few on the Jazz roster this past season who always brought effort and toughness.

Feels like this is likely about absorbing salary in a trade. I agree we like him, maybe we will sign him to a minimum deal?

Utah has $10.5 in cap space and Sam Hauser makes $10.4 million. If I had to do some dubious speculation, I'd say something like ....
BOS trades: Hauser, 2026 DET/MIL/ORL 2nd (best)
UTA trades: cash
If there is a third team to flip Hauser to for an expiring and another 2nd, even better.

I don't think they would. They have Robinson already, and they probably can retain Beasley, too.

Hauser can play back up PF for them, which neither beasley or robinson can

They have theoretical cap space, but they're still operating as an over the cap team because of the balance of the Collins TPE, right? They can sign someone with the $10.5MM space, but, as I understand it, in a trade it's better for them to use a portion of the TPE. Is that how you see it?

That makes sense, you are probably right!

I’m guessing it was, but did KJ Martin have an unguaranteed contract?

Kevin O'Connor: "So Houston is in a position right now where I talked to a bunch of executives over the last 24 hours since the injury happened. I asked, 'What do you think Houston’s going to do?' All of them said they’re likely going to go into the year with the team they have, play the young guys, then come December or January, that’s when you think about making moves or trades."

First female GM in NBA history, and one of the main reasons the Pacers still exist in Indianapolis. With her husband, Bobby "Slick" Leonard, the two kept the Pacers in town, including running a telethon to raise local funds. Absolutely one of the biggest names in Indy sports. The Pacers even renamed their GLeague team to the "Noblesville Boom", after her husbands signature call after a big 3 point shot (Boom Baby!). There's been a rising call from Pacers fans to add a statue of Nancy outside the stadium.
If you have ESPN+, they have a great 30 for 30 on the telethon.

And you already know I believe that the Jazz have identified those two as keepers. Not that he's always right, but David Locke (Jazz radio guy, CEO of Locked On Podcasts) is convinced that Lauri will be on the team the next time they're in the playoffs.

Lot of people saying that the reason why Jazz haven't traded Laurie is because teams don't want that contract? But I guess we'll see in due time

Lots of people say lots of things. Utah is comfortable with Lauri on his contract; it doesn't really matter if other teams are or aren't. The reporting of the Jazz FO mindset re: Lauri has been consistent:
1. They really like him and want him there long term,
2. No player is untouchable—they will listen to offers on anyone, and
3. It would take an overpay for another team to pry him away.
Now you can take the reporting at face value or not and, while their mindset can certainly change, they do seem to be holding that course at least for now.
