Task is so, so good
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I'm enjoying it. Good cast. Someone online said Ruffalo would make a good Columbo. He would.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

The Mrs. recommended that we watch Outer Range and my god, how have I not heard of this show before? Shame that they cancelled it after just two seasons, and I'm hoping that they at least come to some sort of satisfying conclusion by the end of Season 2 (someone can chime in as long as you don't spoil the specifics).

I liked the show a lot, and nope.

I totally understand that it was going to be tough given the passing of Chance Perdomo, but Gen V season 2 through 2 episodes is...kinda meh? Hamish Linklater has been great and I'm genuinely interested in his character, but outside of that the writing, dialogue, editing, pacing, and even acting in some scenes all seems a noticeable step down from season 1. I'm hoping it picks up from episode 3 onwards, because I really liked season 1.

2 episodes in on Black Rabbit. I like it. First episode is a lot of back story and figuring out the characters. Ep 2 was better. It's not breaking new ground plot wise but I like Jason Bateman and Jude Law.

That's a good call. And Tom Pelphrey is a very underrated American actor. He's brilliant in everything he is in.

There's no conclusion but the tone of the show was satisfying enough to me to not get too rankled about the dangling plot ****.

After the finale...I thought episode 5 was the highlight of the season and while it was a very good season overall, I kinda found the last couple episodes to be a bit of a disappointment tbqh, especially the finale. Still think highly of the show overall but the last 2-3 episodes kinda dragged it down just a bit for me personally.

I hadn't heard about the actor and that is terrible.

Separately, I have a pet interest in shows that get backed into a corner by stuff like this. It is almost always a **** disaster. A lot of pretty good shows have self-immolated when they had to write someone out at the last minute, for whatever reason they had to do it. Man in the High Castle comes to mind, a show that was already reeling from railroading a main character to his death that then had to have another one die off screen.

Coogler did a good job with Wakanda Forever (not a show, but the closest movies get to being a show), but even with that he just kind of leaned in to how haunted everything was.

Season 5 of Slow Horses off to a good start. Lamb remains one of the all-time best TV/movie characters.

I need to give that a second look. Bailed in the second season.

I liked the pilot quite a bit so I'm excited to see where it goes.

I had a laugh when Bateman threw in episode specific easter eggs in the title sequence, just like he did with Ozark.

Every episode does that. I look away, they are pretty cryptic but I don't want any spoilers of any kind  I'm on Ep 6, still liking it.

Watched the first episode of The Lowdown and I'm not sure what to make of it. Good cast. But didn't really grab me. One more is out now, I'll probably watch it and then decide whether to continue.

I liked it a lot. One of the entertainment podcasts I listen to called it their favorite show of the year (they've watched ahead).
