Out of curiosity, what do you think we will get for Kuminga if he signs one of these "trade deals"? What are you holding out for?

I don't think Kuminga has high trade value, the aim is either a better-fitting role player or he's part of a blockbuster with picks attached.

If the Warriors can get the Kings to remove the protections from their first round pick and find a third team to take Monk they should do that.

No idea, bro. But every single day leading up until the trade deadline is going to be this ****. It's going to be a nightmare. :banghead:

Not if he takes the QO! Then it will most likely be all season!

Kuminga is not going to sign the Qualifying Offer. Book it!

It's not about "being mad" at Kuminga. It's about being fed up with Kuminga's lack of consideration for anyone other than himself. He's made several would be teammates sit around for months, waiting for him to finish with his very public salary tantrum. At this point, people are simply putting up with him until he's gone. If there isn't already a name for the kind of person whose selfishness engenders disgust from everyone around him, then there ought to be one. For instance, if I'm in a BART or subway car and some guy walks in with a boom box and starts playing his music out loud instead of listening to it on headphones, disrupting everyone else in the car because he needs to feel his bass, THAT guy is most certainly a Kuminga.

There's no basketball happening right now, Al, Seth, De'Anthony, and GPII are just chilling and enjoying the offseason.

Watch the Warriors and the Kuminga camp agree to extend the QO! :banghead:

I don't think Warriors would do this. What's the benefit? Is Kuminga gonna sit out the season? If October 1 comes and goes Warriors gain yet more leverage. He can sit out all season, that's not a problem for the Warriors.

If Kuminga doesn't want a team option he can sign the QO, that's totally his choice.

Duh, he is not under contract.

Are Melton, Horford, GPII, Seth Curry there? They are not under contract.

I have popcorn ready. I am rooting for QO. So far, Warriors want the QO less than JK. But we will see. Popcorn ready.

Hell, I'd give them Kuminga AND Hield/Moody AND a protected pick or pick swap for Keon. With Melton and apparently Seth Curry coming in, some consolidation at the guard spots probably wouldn't hurt anyway.

Does it not bother you that he'll be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and he could walk for nothing?

It does, but I'd only do it as a sign and trade, or with a wink-wink agreement to extend. Not sure why he wouldn't love playing here next to Steph and crew and maybe competing for rings instead of the perpetual clusterf*** that is Sacto. If he doesn't want to, fine, then he's not an option.

Yeah, instead of a player option why doesn't Kuminga ask for two years guaranteed, no options? Seems like he's hedging his bet on himself.

"From the Kings’ vantage point, Kuminga has not performed like a lottery pick and thus shouldn’t require an unprotected first-round pick in return."

Then why are they telling him he they view him as an All Star, he'll start, and they want him to be him? :dontknow:

Don't know but they probably shouldn't be either since they're not officially on the roster yet. But it's irrelevant as it would be an epically stupid risk to take for Kuminga. I guess he could show up and not do anything physical? But that's kind of weird too and his presence might be a distraction to everyone until the contract is resolved, this being what should be the final week of negotiations.

Taking the QO would be devastating for Kuminga's career earnings, I think that is a totally fake threat.

Don’t they already have a 3/54 option all guaranteed out to him?

We've seen video of Kuminga working out in Miami, he could easily get injured there. He probably has injury insurance, and the reason not to play with his Warriors teammates is because he doesn't want to be their teammates.

Yes - I should modify my statement... If Kuminga wants to play for $18 mil per they are happy to guarantee multiple years. 18 years is basically the MLE and a very tradeable contract.

Interesting that it is reported that it's the Kings who are reaching back out about a Kuminga trade.

If you hate your boss, money means nothing. I left my job with a bad boss, and I work on myself, not somebody's goal... my life became so much happier.

JK should take the QO if that is the fastest way to get out of here. Or get pay and sit at the end of the bench... counting his money Warriors unwillingly pay him. Those are his real options.

Congrats! I did the same. Thus far, best decision ever.
