At least 3 of 4 Preseason Games On Fanduel Sports Network Florida
I was looking at The Magic's Schedule on their website and it looks like we get 3 of 4 Preseason Games on Fanduel Sports Network Florida.
https://www.nba.com/magic/schedule
The only game the appears to have no TV is the Friday October 10 game at Philadelphia.
Great news news to get a bump up of 3 of 4 instead of 2 of 4 but we should get them all given all the money the NBA is making.

I was really hoping to never pay for that crappy provider again...oh well, FanDuel/Bally tortures us for another year.

So if I want to catch magic games I have to sub to bally sports?
Dumb.
How many games will I get with this provider?

The NBA is apparently working towards a National RSN deal. I think they want to keep Fanduel Sports Network afloat until that is done. It would be nice if they transitioned back to over the air like The Tampa Bay Lightning are doing this season.

They need to fix this. Its really unfair for the home base fans to have such limited access. Last year the Suns did over the air, not sure they are doing it again with the new rights deal. But ideally that would be the best way to take care of the hard core home base fan. Not holding my breath over this though....

Phoenix just re-upped the deal for over-the-air broadcast of their games.
Their viewership more than doubled AND they've been able to make up for the lost revenue from when they switched from the RSN.

Wow that is interesting to hear. Turns out that doing right by your base fan can actually work financially. Who would have thought...
These companies for too long have been looking at short term revenue without thinking how they are going to bring in new fans to prop them up 10 years down the road. You wont bring in new loyal fans by paywalling yourself...the MLS was incredibly stupid putting themselves almost exclusively on Apple TV (which needs an additional package to view). Apple TV doesn't release viewership but experts estimate they are absolutely terrible. Even here locally you feel the lower fandom for Orlando City, I think in part because of this. You cant build your local fan base if you are intentionally making yourself harder to access, there is too many options out there now...

A couple of NBA Teams have done this.
I'd love it if The Magic did this. It could grow their fanbase.

I hated the deal MLS did.
I used to watch Orlando City when they had the games OTA on TV27 and Fox35Plus.
Hopefully, they get out of it when they can,
After all the years of fans subitizing sports via RSN's, it would be nice if they Leagues gave back and in the process, expand their fanbase. A lot of fans cannot afford to watch the games and when I first became a fan, there was a dispute between my cable provider and Sunshine Network. Luckily, half the games used to be on WB18 and then MY65 which allowed fans to watch at least watch some games.
Here is to bringing this back.

And it appears The Magic at 76ers Preseason Game will be on NBA TV.
Unfortunately, those games are sometimes blacked out for us even if we have no local TV,

I think they signed a 7 year deal so they are stuck for a while. Kind of hilarious they have megastar Messi and they are limiting his reach, total wasted opportunity.

Yeah...I really don't get it. If there's one single thing that floats the economy of NBA teams, it's the TV deals. The way it's diluted over multiple providers, for additional costs - I just don't see how viewership could ever compare to a routine local broadcast deal...and I'll never understand local blackouts...has anyone ever said "the game isn't televised, I guess we have to drop a grand for four tickets and a beer."

Blackouts are a relic of a long gone by era when TV coverage was limited and attending games was affordable for the average family. It should have been done away with decades ago.

Also miss the one before it on WB18 during the 92-93 Season.

The Magic would benefit a ton by going the over-the-air route. The Suns’ data (particularly the growth in merchandise sales) is so encouraging that I think even the DeVos family would go this route.
Orlando City is 100% being enormously hurt by the Apple TV deal. Team interest might be at a 10-year low, even though these past few years have been by far our most successful in the league.

Modern business strategy at its finest... Get your money, hollow out the carcass, squeeze every last drop, and get out. I'm hopeful that the DeVos' are in it for the long haul and do the right thing for the fans (and ultimately for themselves).

I hope NBA TV will not be blacked out from other one as we have no local tv for it.
