It’s so disheartening watching Darnold play and knowing he wanted to stay in Minny and the front office just said, “nah we’re good, we’re going to go with a handoff merchant with below average physical tools.”

Don’t get me wrong, not saying he’s Allen/Lamar level good. But he’s a game manager+. He is so damn good and doing the simple things, while having the high level physical tools to toss in a few “wow” plays in there.

We're not that far removed from Darnold completely folding in the games that mattered. Let's at least see him win some playoff games before we get filled with regret.

Its like seeing your ex after she lost 20 pounds and is peaking, but she is with some bum. But for some reason she appears happy. And its like this thing that slowly eats away at the back of your mind. Im so much better than the guy she is with, and its clear as a day I was dumb for kicking her out. Give it a few months and ill be at the, "how can I possibly come up with a way to win her back."

Darnold belongs, hell, no he deserves to be back in purple and gold!!! We can give him so much more than you can

Looks like Darnold upgraded!

TBF he's been the most efficient QB through 4 weeks according to PFF. The efficiency stats back it up too. He's played very well.

Duke can also be very reactionary from week to week. He was all-in on McCarthy after week one. So, things can change quickly on that front.

No doubt he's played well, but he also played well for the Vikings most of last year. Where he didn't play well was game 17 against the Lions and the Wild Card game. If he played better in the playoffs, there would be a better chance he's still in purple right now.

I would argue there is a flaw in KOCs coaching philosophy, that i believe he is trying to fix this year. And might get it fixed by playoff time. Moreso than Darnolds error.
The Seahawks stuck to the run game, and said be damned to every thing else, and continued to Pound the Rock. Well it worked, with all the negatives included. But this is a results oriented business

Lifelong Niners fan Richard Sherman. You know you are the America's team when a rival team's best player ever starts rooting for you :)

Sherman was one of the most vocal players against Wilson even when they were on the same team in Seattle, of course he is going to grab any opportunity he gets to **** on him some more. Man is sounding like an NBA retiree, just trying to trash the game for the sake of trashing. Couldn't even keep it 100% Wilson either, man had to credit himself and LoB despite holding no relevancy to anything anymore. Pathetic behavior.

It's fair to think Wilson is washed. Hell, everyone thinks that. This, however, is dumb and kinda revisionist as well. I haven't forgotten about Wilson carrying a Seattle team so injured they had to quickly grab Marshawn Lynch from retirement in 2019.

People forget but Russ basically had to do most of the heavy lifting from 2018-2020, post Sherman. The defense was mid at best during those 3 years.

It's no secret that Sherm has never really taken a liking to Russ. But that's because they come from different backgrounds & are very different people.

Sherm has always wanted to be the face of the team & to get the credit. When he doesn't get it, he lashes out.

I think crediting the LOB, which Sherman obviously was a part of, is what takes it over the top for me. DangeRuss has been subpar since leaving Seattle, that is just a fact. But the LOB wasn't a thing for several years while Wilson still performed at a high level.

I do agree to some degree. The interior O line last year was horrible. And with most QBs, they don’t handle interior pressure well. I also think KOC needed to be able to adjust his playcalling the deeper in the season we got.

With that said, my main thing with Darnold is mostly kidding. But I am at the thinking of, id much rather just let KOC find a young vet and have him jump in and take control of the offense, instead of trying to develop a young QB. And if we kept Darnold and he turns out to be another Baker, sweet keep him. If not, just roll onto the next young vet to come in.

I definitely didn’t tell you after week 1 I was never going to question McCarthy again. Totally never said those things to you… haha
