It's very low, but I wonder if they are doing it to level expectations from the $20-25 mil a year that Grimes is looking for. Not saying it's right, but seems like a Morey move to save money.

For ****'s sake. With this many injuries, year after year, you have to start to wonder about the medical/training staff. Also, if McCain is out long term, that gives Grimes some leverage in his negotiations.

I honestly don't understand the stalemate with Grimes. If he refuses to take a deal, then trade him. This situation should have been resolved months ago especially given the logjam they now have at the guard positions. Now they probably feel like they have to re-sign him (which would likely be an overpay) assuming McCain will miss extended time.

This is my guess. It's a negotiating tactic so when they "meet in the middle" it's closer to the number they want. Likely around $15m/yr.

Same thing happened with Giddey this summer.

[Scotto] Quentin Grimes and agent David Bauman pitched long-term deals with a $17.5–21M starting salary, but the 76ers’ current one-year offer is only slightly above his $8.7M QO, with Grimes seeking at least $14–19M to waive his no-trade clause.

We all get excited by a 60 sec workout hype video, Morey is mishandling a contract negotiation, and a young star guard gets injured the day before media day…we are on pace to hit Sixers bingo in record time this year.

Somewhere James Harden has a Daryl Morey voodoo doll and is basically decapitating it at this point. Is this the most cursed sports franchise of all time?

The Sixers want Grimes to take his QO so they can then dump Oubre and Drummond, sign two mins, and still be under the tax. This is what I believe until they show otherwise.

I like Grimes and would sign him to 15 m a year, but hes not essential to us. I rather watch VJ playing 30 mins per game. The chance of Embiid being done is pretty high, so we wont be going anywhere without him anyways.

Is this comment related to the McCain injury? If so, why?

But Grimes at least would be a valueable asset. Dont let' him Take the QO. Give him sth reasonable and Not 39/4. That disrespectful.

I know some exercises one can do to strengthen the hand. But to broadcast those McCain would need to start an OnlyFans instead of a Tiktok.

I don't think he would be a valuable asset at $20M/year

My prediction for the season has now shifted. Embiid/PG are reasonably healthy and actually play good but our young talent struggles (Maxey/VJ/McCain/etc). We are too excited about the young guys and too down on the old guys and the universe refuses to let us have fun.

Would love if he actually gets better at this. Still think he's an All Star in this league if he had a better brain.
