Missed the match today. Apparently, Leoni looked very good before coming off. Hoping the injury isn't too serious.

Isak nets his first in a Liverpool shirt. Ekitike scores the game winner but receives his second yellow for taking his shirt off. Very foolish. As a result, he'll miss this weekend's trip to Crystal Palace.

Chiesa with two assists.

I would not have an issue with sitting Ekitike for a few matches after that foolishness. Slot was fuming.

It really is one of the absolute stupidest things in sports to get nailed for. Why take off your shirt?

Gutted for Leoni, happy for Chiesa. He needs to find a new team in January though for sure

Didn't Salah take off his shirt last season, to show off his abs and show how fit he was?

Before he signed his big new contract?

Yeah, that was pretty dumb. You saw Frimpong run right over to him, and start jawing at him that he's about to get sent off.

I'm gonna tell you something else I really didn't like about it: that was 99.9% Chiesa. Beautiful touches, and real unselfish play (something I was alluding to the other day......plays like that really REALLY give me hope. In fact, I'm right back on the Chiesa train after yesterday. If he's gonna play like that, then he should start all the time) - anyhow...that was all Chiesa, and his beautiful unselfish work....so for Ekitike to take his jersey off, and turn his name to the crowd???? No thank you. He shoulda turned and pointed to Chiesa and given him all the credit.

I know.....I come from a different universe than what we have today, with young men thinking they're the center of the universe, and all the bling and other nonsense. But F**k that. That was a bush-league move, and stupid to boot. He's been a great player so far, so the whole thing saddens me....but he knocked himself down about 8 pegs in my mind yesterday.

Leoni looked pretty raw, imo. By that I mean I think he had some nerves.....some of his passes were off. He was trying a little too hard to make these 30-some yard passes up to the strikers. NOTHING wrong with that, btw....they just weren't landing. He had a few simple passes as well I think he'd like back. Just nerves....the kid needs playing time, and he'll be great. He just needs to grow the confidence and surety that comes with being out there and making mistakes/making great plays. We'll all remember how freakin awkward Allison looked those first 20-some games with us. I Not sure how he tore his ACL there. Obviously it's not good to see an 18year old tear his ACL his first real game. Don't know what this means moving forward, but sheesh. Let's hope he recovers 100% and moves on to have a great career with us. Thankfully ACL's are not the 'death sentence' they were just 25 years ago. They seem to be almost a rite of passage with athletes these days.

Two BEAUTIFUL assists from Chiesa. I'm doubly impressed that he didn't try to force his own glory......knowing the knifes edge his career is on right now, at least with Liverpool. I can't put to words how impressed I was with his play. I really hope he gets rewarded for this. If I'm Slot, I play that 2nd goal to the team, and make a good showing of letting Chiesa know he's already penned down as a starter for next game.

I was 1000% with you there until yesterday. We need guys willing to pass that final pass. My mind is starting to turn here a little. If Chiesa is gonna play like that, and play that kind of game for us (you know there will be some nice goals as well)...I'm not so sure all of a sudden.

We'll see...it was one game...but damn was I impressed with how he conducted himself.

I just can't imagine that he gets a proper consistent chance unless other players go down. It was just a cup game and although he was added to the UCL list to replace Leoni, it still speaks volumes that he was left out initially. The fact that he was active and energetic for a full 90 minutes is a really great thing though

His best opportunity will likely be when Salah exits for AFCON.

Your right...I totally hear it. Like I said, I was exactly there with you. But I will say I think he "complicated" things for Slot last Tues. And I personally would like to see him get a few more games. Give the guy a good run of 10-ish games. He's fit....he's integrated...he seems more comfortable. Before we move, I think Slot should clear his mind of all past thoughts, and pretend Sat is game 1 for Chiesa.

A good point. And he magically got a spot in the UCL. Destiny boys!! I dunno....I think something happened recently. Something in his head cleared...or clicked. I dunno. I might be being foolish. But I see no harm in letting Ekiteke sit a good 3-4 games for stupidity....and shortly followed by Salah going off. Let's take that car out for oooooonnnnnnnneeeee last spin. I feel like something changed. I want Slot to give him a proper chance till Jan. If he's not sold on him by then, then fine....but give Chiesa a fair shot.

The underline is ridiculous. Yes, let's cut off one's nose to spite one's face.

Slot has publicly slated him. Ekitike is missing Sunday's match at Crystal Palace. And more importantly, he's allowed Isak the chance to shine.
