Lemme give a summary though of the position I support: If so many Democrats weren’t in favor of completely open borders, socialism, unlimited access to government benefits for those who illegally come to this country, lack of law enforcement, double standards in the law for every day citizens, and escalating endorsement of violence, then I would consider supporting them. I don’t much like Republicans, there just aren’t as many crazy ones on the right as of now.
You can raise the red flag of this Comey arrest, but most people don’t care. The arrest and prosecution of Trump kind of dulled the shock factor of seeing a person formerly in a position of power being indicted. I personally think if anyone has broken the law, then there needs to be consequences. Especially if it’s a person in power. A jury will now decide whether Comey is guilty and honestly if it’s a DC jury I don’t see him being found guilty. Everything is so political now.
This statement right here tells me you haven’t really taken the time to understand the things that motivate and move the democrats. I assure you that if you take the time to really understand what left leaning people want, and I mean talk to them with an open mind and not this pre-conceived notion you have, you would learn that the left doesn’t want those things either. What they want is a government for the people and by the people.
- Not “completely open borders”. They want fair treatment and consideration of people fleeing another country. Give them the right to due process. They want proper funding and processes in place for homeland security to process these people quicker and either grant them status, or deport them, whichever is the fair treatment for their circumstances.
- Not “socialism”. They want human rights and a country for the people. They want a country that does not benefit off of the working class, but that it is working for the working class… while also cultivating corporate America. The left wants a balance that seeks to favor both sides, not just the big corporations and top 1%.
- Not “unlimited access to government benefits”. They want services in place that can help provide essential needs to low income families and if that also includes those recently granted status as well, then so be it. They also want better systems in place to limit abuse of those benefits, while also ensuring its people have access to those benefits if they need it and other services that can help them climb up and out of the bottom. They want their taxes to serve the people in ways they truly need it.
- Not “lack of law enforcement”. They want law enforcement that is not corrupt or discriminatory. They want law enforcement that considers all people as “innocent until proven guilty”.
- Not “double standards in the law”. This one is far from a left point of view. They want equal treatment for all, which is literally the opposite of double standards, which is what we currently have where a white man is treated differently than all others.
- Not “escalating endorsement of violence”. Again, this one is far from a left point of view. The left wants a de-escalation of violence through policy, proper support programs and services, and regulation. The left is more of the peace and love hippie type; seeking to use words, reasoning, critical thinking, and logic to convey their message. Not violence. They will write a petition before ever even considering to draw a sword.
Again, I challenge you to really try to understand what a democrat wants through their lens and words and not the lens of right leaning propaganda. I truly hope you made it this far and have taken the time to see it through my lens with an open mind that perhaps your understanding of left leaning people is not accurate.

Why write a political piece and not be open to discussion? So you don’t care to understand the point of view of those on the other side? Was the purpose just to kick dirt at the democrats? How can you even have an opinion of them if you have no intent to understand them or their POV?
I get the impression that certain posters have decided to escalate figuring that if hostility and insults and personal attacks start flying, it will force the mods to shut down these topics.

I cant believe there are actual people that support our own military attacking our very own people.

But, this is what America is turning to on both sides of the political spectrum. Now, we have to listen to radicals blast about everything they hate. No wonder people go on crazy violent rampages in real life when they cannot disconnect and feel the need to express their hatred to anyone and everyone they associate with regardless if they disagree with them. It just sucks for RealGM sports fans to deal with radical hatred in their only place of sports solitude which is no longer. The radicals have won the argument to share their hatred with people who want nothing to do with them or what they think about in Politics on a sports forum. Extremist Radicals. . .
They could always go to Foxnews or MSNBC/CNN to post comments there, but no, they want to express hatred to everyone on a sports pages forum . . .
I am a centrist and dislike both sides, but now I am beginning to understand why those people voted in Trump. They got tired of whiners.

They haven't won any arguments so much as it just being a case of no one even wanting to deal with them because they are so insufferable, including the mods haha. It's funny though, no one here pulled this crap the other way when they were in power and actively ruining the country, in fact some of the same people were still trolling and complaining even then if you go back and look at the beginning of this thread. And now after they lost they (well mainly 2 in particular) can't stop trolling and crying in here, it's really quite pathetic...

I get we are sports fans and thus care about winning… but nothing about this political climate is winning for anyone. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” We are all the losers in today’s economic and political climate… being pawned against each other while those in power shape this country to their benefit. We can continue to argue in here like pawns or rise above this bull.
