I'd rather pull the qualifying offer and let Grimes walk than have Caleb Martin on the books, but w/o the deal Mavs would have made the PO and wouldn't draft Flagg so in retrospect, yeah it was worth it.

Yea any little tweak could have cost us Flagg and just as bad, gave the Spurs FLagg. Fine with how things played out. Just want AD gone.

This entire fiasco just keeps reminding me how stacked Mavs would actually be after everyone would come back from the hospital. No AD and Christie but Lively comes back, Grimes being better than at the start then the emergence from B.Will and Luka also healthy plus 99% chance Kyrie doesn't get hurt like that. Holy **** this will never stop pissing me off what kind of next level idiot Nico has been.

The only reason this new team could work is purely because of generational luck of getting Flagg. Without Flagg i would have ran away from the team simply because new ownership destroyed everything good. Even though we'll never know how exactly Mavs landed that nr1 pick i'm still eager to see how it goes.

In my opinion anyway Doncic, Embiid and Zion took Ozempic this summer... I see strange things...

I know it's preseason, but HOU started this insanely big lineup last night.

Amen (6'-7")
Durant (6'-11")
JSJ (6'-11")
Sengun (6'-11")
Adams (6'-11")

HOU and DAL rosters are similarly constructed. I really think many teams will be rolling with big lineups this year.

Houston "discovered" the big look against the Mavs, in AD's debut, they got back to the game by going to it, it also was their only effective lineup against the Ws in the PO because of their insane rebounding rate.

What are your thoughts on a big lineup against OKC? DLo, Coop, PJ, AD, Lively

Very effective, their soft spot is 4s who are mobile and can bully, that's why PJ is successful, but w/o Kyrie, Mavs guard play is just too weak, they'll chew DLo and spit him out.

That's why I like PJ at SF. It changes the complexion of the defense.

PJ can't play SF, too limited and without range... He was a disaster last season in that spot.

Coop has to he be our 3.

You're missing the reason why this lineup can work, it's Sengun, who's Jokic light as playmaker. He was 3rd in assists in Eurobasket and Udoka is using him similarly in preseason. If Udoka can really use him as legit playmaker in RS, Rockets might be the best team in the West.

Take it for what it is worth, but PJ had a 19.0 PER and 12.9 opponents' PER, which is obviously excellent. That's 11% of his minutes.

PJ's 3pt% was 38.1 last year. That's only 4.2 attempts, but I think he'll be given the greenlight this year.

Watching probably 70 games last year, I liked PJ at SF. I don't think a lot modern day NBA players are pigeon-holed into positions. At this point I'd consider PJ a "wing" more than a SF. I think he's going to get a lot of burn this year as the 2nd forward.

Good point. Sengun is a beast. It still speaks volumes to JSJ, Durant, Amen given that they're at least a position lower than they would be traditionally.

It would be something unprecedented to have better shooting numbers while playing without true Pg and with bad spacing.

I think that depends on how well the ball will be distributed by everyone not at the point. With our rim-running, I think the spacing will be fine.

Funny how we HAD 2 in top 10 who are still in their 20s and all we have yielded is a 32 yo injury prone #12.

Fricken pathetic!!!

Return to Dallas Mavericks
