We finally showed some mettle and our bench is a force this year even with a ton of injuries.

Arsenal celebrating like they won the WC. Probably relieved to finally win up at St. James but it was a very physical match, with NC pulling and pushing and getting away with it most of the game.

At one point, an NC and Arsenal player were tangled trying to get the ball and Joelinton flew in there and threw a body block at the Arsenal player. The Arsenal players had to point at it and finally the referee gave Joelinton a yellow card.

It was like that last year at St. James, NC has a lot of big players so they throw their weight around.

That play where the penalty was called and then reversed on VAR, how does that work, if the goalkeeper gets the ball he gets to knock the opposing player off his feet so that he doesn't even get a chance to retrieve it? He got the ball first but in getting to that ball he basically intercepted the player who had the ball.

Chelsea seemed to be more aggressive, kept moving forward. Liverpool goalkeeper had to make two stretching saves late in the match.

Chelsea just kept missing a couple of times and then finally broke through in injury time.

Two weeks ago Liverpool were perfect, no defeats or draws, though they relied on late goals to get those wins.

Now two matches in a row, they conceded winning goals late.

Guess the being able to score when they needed to wasn't sustainable at all.

Sobering reality hit more than anything. Amazing cameos by both Gittens and Estevao, completely changed the game. Lavia as well. Caicedo titanic, as he is every week.

That was MY life without Trevoh Chalobah in it for 90 minutes. His evil eye from the stands must have been working overtime because it took down Badiashile and Acheampong in one fell swoop. Sadly this means the worst centre back in the history of the sport will be starting with total immunity again until seasons end (at least until the next inevitable red card).

Still, always nice to humble the filthy dippers.

feel like we're pretty close to hitting that attacking form we hit in the second half of 23/24 where we were getting like 3 goals in the first half and ending games. Just need to up the efficiency and chemistry/timing

Odegaard seems cursed this year but our depth is absurd and we've been able to overcome it. 3 times in 6 league games he's left injured in the first half lol.

Our defence is ridiculous and doesnt give teams a sniff man. Need to keep it up. Fulham away that has been dropped points in the last two years is up next.

I wish it wasn't international break time with us really about to click and liverpool in a bit of a wobble(perfect time for them to regroup and assess whats wrong)

I watched the whole game, and thought that Caicedo was imperious for the full 90. Is it fair to say that Estevao is the brightest talent currently at the club? He looks a cut above.

Currently, Spurs are sitting in third with 14 points, 2 off Arsenal at the top and 1 off Liverpool in second, before the rest of this weekend's fixtures are played. The performances have been a bit disjointed under Frank so far, but at the very least, I'm seeing more structure and work rate. With Maddison and Kulusevski injured, and Xavi acclimatising to the league, the creativity is not there yet. Our opening schedule has been quite soft, so we'll see how we do after the international break, as it gets a lot stronger in late October/November.

Of the new signings, Palhinha is a home run, and Kudus looks good too - our biggest attacking threat. Jury's still out on Xavi and Kolo Muani, who is injured. Really happy for Tel to score today, too.
