Free agent guard Monte Morris has agreed to a one-year deal with the Indiana Pacers, his agents, Andy Shiffman and Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, told ESPN's Shams Charania on Tuesday.

The Jazz have a high asking price for Kessler. One source told Lakers Daily that the Lakers would have to part ways with Austin Reaves and multiple first-round picks to acquire Kessler, who projects to be a great fit next to Doncic and LeBron James since he’s a skilled lob threat and excellent rim protector.

I can see why Beringer was top priority during draft.

I think many feel we have a big hole with Mike Conley compared to other teams, but consider all the teams who have their better point guards out longterm?

Fred VanVleet, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, DeJounte Murray, Tyrese Haliburton

If all the point guards in the NBA were healthy, MIN would likely face a PG better than Conley most nights. But injuries have really decimated the position, and we haven’t even started preseason. We might be happy to have Mike.

This is a really interesting point, actually.

Well since so many teams need a reliable pg ,hopefully Rob has a solid second year and wolves can trade expiring Conley or DDV for something useful. Ant will handle the ball most of the time in the playoffs anyway.

I don't like Ant handling the ball much. It should be no more than 5 seconds at a time. Drives me nuts watching him pound the ball looking for an opening.

No buyout for Love perhaps.

Kevin Love Joining Jazz Camp With No Buyout Looming
Sep 27, 2025 11:09 AM

Veteran big man Kevin Love is expected to join the Utah Jazz for training camp next week. There have been rumors of Love and the Jazz coming to an agreement on a buyout, but things aren't expected to progress there until a playoff contender shows interest in signing Love.

Utah acquired Love from the Miami Heat this offseason as part of a three-team trade that sent John Collins to the LA Clippers and Norman Powell to the Heat. Love is on a expiring $4.15M contract. Because he makes less than the Non-Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception, Love is eligible to sign any team that has the ability following a buyout.

Last season, the 17-year veteran appeared in 23 games for the Heat. Love averaged 5.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game.

Comparing to other teams is fine and all, but it's our lack of playmaking and ballhandling when facing playoff level defense that is the biggest problem.
We desperately need a guard on the floor on the opposite side of Ant who can attack and break down a defense.
If we are going to win 4 playoff series and not just beat the teams we match up well against.

I like what I heard from Finch recently about fixing their poor finishing and the way they teach finishing to the team though.
Hopefully it leads to a big lift in our free throw attempts this year.

Not so sure about that after listening Finch ITW. He seems to like much more ANT focus on scoring than handling the ball at clutch time. The point will be how we move the ball well enough to find ANT ( or another guy in case ANT is well locked).

Something to think about....

Rudy Gobert is entering his age 33 season, and his salary in 2025-26 is 22.6% of the salary cap. When Al Horford was going into his age 33 season, he signed a 4/$109M contract with Philadelphia (starting at 25.6% of the salary cap). Horford has played 352 games and started 296 games in the 6 seasons since.

Let's see this year how Rudy play. He won't improve his weak point ( Offense, hands...) after so many years so we have to rely on his strength ( Defense, rebound, screen...). As long as he is healthy, he will remain at a high level. This year, he really have a good off season (Hope he clean his personal issues) without any international competition so I'm expecting he come strong.

On the Lakers/Suns broadcast Mychal Thompson has declared the Lakers a team without weakness. I suppose by some stretch of the imagination it's true. Mychal has been broadcasting Lakers basketball for 22 years now, but still supports Gophers basketball and wishes his sons had attended the University of Minnesota.

Yeah, defense definitely isn’t a weakness ;)
