Al Horford is about to join Kareem Abdul Jabbar as the only players in NBA history to have won multiple NBA titles after the age of 37.

He would also be on the exclusive list of players who have won multiple NCAA titles then multiple NBA titles on the same team -- Bill Russell, KC Jones, Kareem, and Jamaal Wilkes.

How many awards does the NBA have now? I went to my daughters 4th grade award ceremony the other day and they give awards for everything. Most respectful, most caring, most trustworthy, most hand raising for the bathroom.... I'm forgetting a couple more also.

When my son was in elementary school it was A honor roll, B honor roll and have a nice day. :dontknow:

sucks that they're recognizing humans for being respectful, caring, and trustworthy, I'm sorry you had to experience that

There are 6 award ceremonies for the year and since each class has around 20 kids, each kid ends up eventually getting an award. One for you, and you and you and you........ :D

sounds like they need an In-Season Tournament sponsored by Alibaba or a Play-In Tournament brought to you by Valvoline Motor Oil to build some enthusiasm on the part of their audience!

(I'm just **** around, of course. I *do* want to say, sincerely, it's great you're there for your kids)

Al Horford using the time off to work double time on his product endorsements. Getting ready for that minimum signing hehe. Even though we all know he deserves more.

After game 4 against Orlando, Horford has now played 190 playoff games, tying Magic Johnson for 13th all time. 18 more to tie Pippen for 10th all time. Guys above Pippen are LeBron, Kareem and a bunch of dudes from either the Duncan Spurs or the Shaq/Kobe Lakers.

That Shams tweet after we win the 2025 title that says "Al Horford has agreed to sign a 1 year veterans minimum contract with the Boston Celtics. With the Celtics payroll and second apron situation, Horford and other members of the Celtics are taking less money to build a dynasty" will hit like crack :)
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Al Horford has beaten 11 of the 15 teams in the Eastern conference in a playoff series. He is missing the Hornets, Knicks, Pistons and Raptors to complete the set. Let's push him to 12/15 after the next series

Even after that, he's gonna have to play quite a few more years to complete the set. I'm good with that.

Damn!

Really wanted him to finish up, as a Celtic.

Well. Godspeed Al Horford.

This guy was the glue that made it all work.

I think some of y'all aren't ready for how badly it's probably going to be this year.

Thanks for the title.

Sad to see him go. One of those guys who feels like he should have been a Celtic his entire career. Maybe there's a post-retirement role for him with the team.

Horf was a great Celtic! Not just a champ, and 2x Finals appearance but a great FA signing that changed the market to see Boston as a FA destination

Reports are saying "multi-year" contract but don't forget two year deal w/ a 2nd yr player option counts as "multi-year" on a press release

What I'm saying if GSW falls apart because of Steph/Jimmy being too old, and Al maintains, he could opt out after the year, and if JT is looking healthy again ... you never know, this may not be the last goodbye, lol

But no matter of that, Al Horford has been a great Celtic, probably the 6th best big man in the history of the NBA's greatest franchise:
Russell, Cowens, Parish, McHale, Garnett, Horford

Good luck in San Fran, Al!!!!!

Al is one of my all time favorite Celtics. I think this is best Celtic moment, right?

Absolutely.

Al will be missed both on and off the court. So glad we were able to get him a title. He was awesome over the years and always picked up his play when we needed it most.
