Re: OT: NFL 25 Draft and Beyond Thread
I will say this.
The defense was not perfect but I saw a lot of extra effort
It seems like if you have guys on offense that want to play hard, the other units will reciprocate
We didn't beat some bum ass team today

Good.
I want him to face the adversity. That's what determines who he will be.
I see potential and upside in this kid. He's not scared. He has poise. He's also too stupid to slide, which needs to be corrected. Both him and Skattebo will end up with CTE at this rate. We need much better coaching.
That throw to Bellinger to keep possession in crunch time was excellent. I like Dart.
I also like Carter. And Kayvon. And Brian Burns. And Dex.
The offensive line was solid today. That one bad hit on Jax was his own fault because he didn't adjust for the extra rusher.
Daboll needs to be fired. If you give an experienced good coach this group, we would be a lot better

Great first game from Dart. We actually looked like a legit team.
Really bummed about Nabers. They need to rip up MetLife stadium. That turf is awful.

Re: OT: NFL 25 Draft and Beyond Thread
Dart's energy and toughness alone is easy to root for and get behind. You saw the team just play with a different type of energy. When your QB are making those extra effort plays its infectious.
Now someone does need to tell the kid to pick his battles...trying to square up a DB and stiff arm him with his throwing hand is no bueno...he needs to wise up a bit like throw the ball away and take less hits or slide when he has first downs. Otherwise there is no way he's making it through a full season playing like that.
He plays a lot like Hurts which would be great...but even Hurts knows when to run out of bounds or live to fight another day and then there is a time to lower your shoulder and get extra yards.

wow, you notice how quick that first step and explosion to the QB. Didn't record a sack but forced a intentional grounding and multiple QB pressures that led to quick throws and incompletions.

Re: OT: NFL 25 Draft and Beyond Thread
Felt so good to sit down and enjoy a game for once! I know there won't be many wins this season but losing will hit differently if we see Dart, Skatt and Carter play and play well and get better.
Dart played well for his first start! Showed his toughess and made some nice passes. Two passes that stand out was that step in the pocket pass to Slayton on 3rd down and that other pass where he escaped the pocket and directed his receiver to come back. And of course that run where he stiff armed the guy and the other where he bounced out of the tackle and picked up the first! This kid is super tough and fearless! But his durability does worry me but it's going to be fun to watch him play and grow.
Gotta give credit to Bowen cause that defense played extremely well. Except on 2nd or 3rd and long. We got a gift with Alt out but whatever. 12 QB hits, 4 TFLs, 2 Sacks and 2 INTs! Carter was so lethal on those rushes too!
Cut Gano! McAtamney looked good. And let Banks return kicks and keep him out on defense. He stinks.
I feel so badly for Nabers. It's a damn shame ownership refuses to change that turf. **** will continue and we'll see more and more plays getting hurt until they change it. Has Mara or Woody Johnson ever commented on this?

wow shena bowen is a genius. who would have thought he'd be better utilized as an edge rusher than a linebacker

Re: OT: NFL 25 Draft and Beyond Thread
With this aggressive defensive line, I wonder how they're not using blitzing packages with 3 edge rushers? Is the playbook that empty?

I don't understand why we'd trade assets and use cap space to get a WR in a season where we still aren't going to make the playoffs.

Having lost a cousin and my grandma to cancer and with an aunt in remission, my prayers are with John, who by all accounts is a decent guy. This sucks.
