No they aren't but those are all new guys, so you can't directly say they're doing bad because of scheme/coaching. The other guys have been solid recently. At least not completely inept

Can anyone tell me how many elite defensive HCs there are in the nfl? Seems like every great coach is a play caller

Probably just the way to go anymore. Aaron Glenn is the only guy I can think of otherwise. Then you have the inspiration guys like Vrabel and Campbell.

I would only hire a defensive guy if he's an elite defensive play caller. Great X's & O's guy with a proven scheme.

DeMeco Ryans & Mike Macdonald are probably at the top of the list as far as great young defensive coaches. Todd Bowles & Aaron Glenn also call plays.

Jesse Minter (Chargers) is the next up & coming DC that should get consideration from teams.

None, Mike Tomlin used to be a good coach but he is over his head nowadays

Tomlin is more of a CEO these days. He doesn't call plays. Same as Vrabel & Carroll.
