Yankees tie for first in the American League, have 4 more wins than the 3rd place team, and end up with a wild card spot. That’s rough. Then again, we’ve been screwed time and again because of the existence of the Yankees.

Yes, we all will be mourning all day. The government was kind enough to let us do this..

You really typed that out and clicked submit. Just gave up on yourself in front of everyone, damn.
Dont tell me you and lots others truly take this day off and mourn over the sins and crimes of the past. Seriously, there is any true remorse out there or it's just another holiday for people to celebrate themselves and their functions..did you not read what is written before i "typed and submit" ..thats the prevailingattitude..stop trying so hard to be "holier than though"/quote]

would love to see Redsox take out the skanks !

Is that what we actually want? Will have to consider

Crochet getting 2 possible starts in 1 five game series isn’t great either

I have this disdain for the Skanks and their fanbase. I just can't see myself rooting for them.

the hope is its a long series and they wear each other out.

Still doesn’t make up for 2021 when we were far better than them and completely missed the playoffs. At least they still have their shot at a WS.

Proud of the boys nobody picked them for the division and they really grinded it out to the last game amazing contributions from the whole team. Hyped for the ALDS only 11 games for a WS let's do it.

For MLB teams that reached the top and collapsed this season
Astros and Mets fell head first off a cliff
Tigers slipped and hanging off the cliff ledge
Blue Jays still admiring the view from the summit despite Yankees effort to push them off.
Just Enough time to stick that AL victory flag at the very top of the mountain

I can't feel too bad about our almost-choke because the Yankees mid-season choke was far worse.

Yankees fought hard going 11-1 at the end of the season. Yea it was against non playoff teams but that was impressive

With that win we've now lost 8 consecutive seasons in head to head record to the rays and in 16 of the last 18 seasons

This is the reverse of 2021. We had a higher run differential than the Yankees and Red Sox combined but missed the playoffs because we choked away key games during the season.

The Yankees choked the division away this year.

I don't know enough about the Rays to know. Did they really not put forth their best? In the last game only or all three?

I don't care, don't sympathize with the Yanks. But I'm just curious because a few posters on the Knicks board where they have a Yankees thread, are half seriously saying the Rays should be investigated

The Rays put out a better lineup than they needed too and pitched all their best relievers this series. Hell Aranda hasn't played in 2 months and played every game this series. Yandy got hurt thursday and still played 1.5 games (only got taken out cause he was at .300). Game 3 they benched Simpson/Lowe/Diaz but id say overall the Rays came in trying to win all 3 games.
