The age thing is unfortunate because both things are true at once. He's a kid in an adult world. That's why the people he surrounds himself with are so crucial. It's too bad he chooses to listen to those telling what he wants to hear rather than what he needs to hear.

You seemed to be “locked in” for things to work out in the worst way as possible for the young 22 year old kid. I feel sorry for you and people who feel the way you do. When he signs and he and the team does well, you won’t be able to enjoy it because of your strong dislike of him.
I hope he does really well because then the Warriors will get more in trade for him!

Dray had it right. It is a business, and the players respect JK for it.
Just sad fans and writers beotch about it to fit their agenda.

Writers primary objective is to sell ads from their articles and some to sell books - basically to build their career.
Fans primary objective is for Warriors to win.
Realgm folks primary objective is to be “right”.
Players objective is to make the most money and secondarily to win in whatever jersey theyre wearing. (Build their career)
The FO primary objective is keep their job and make more money by winning. (Build their career)
Everyone has an ego.
Sometimes these things align with each other, other times they dont. Thats why you’ll see media get irritated by players who avoid them or give bad interviews regardless of how well they perform.
And fans not care how much of a douchebag someone is as long as he’s good. “I agree with so and so cause hes a better player”.
All in all, everyone is full of it, im just here for the entertainment now. Was hoping for 200 pages but doesnt look like its gonna happen.

What’s the target? 200 pages by the time Kuminga is signed or traded? Or just 200 pages total for the thread, even if it continues a bit beyond when his contract is resolved?

I think the goal was 200 before he signed.

200 before signed is what i thought it was also, but are we able to do it?

Vivek and JK deserve each other. It's too bad we can't make that happen without Buddy or Moody suffering.

Re: Warriors exploring S&T for Kuminga
If the Warriors plan on signing Horford, Melton, GP2, Richard, and Seth (or someone else), why aren't they signed now? What are they are they waiting for? And if you say "Kuminga", what does his signing have to do with it?
If Kuminga signs the QO, the Warriors would have $3.1M below the the 1st apron with Horford on the TPMLE and everyone else on minimum salary contracts. Not exactly a large amount, which they could add some of it to Horford (part of the NTMLE) or GP2 (Bird rights), but it is likely the salaries would remain as-is.
If Kuminga signs one of the contract offers, then the Warriors would be hard capped at the 2nd apron and above the 1st apron, so the offers to the above players would remain the same. So, that isn't it.
One thought was the Warriors are protecting themselves from a surprise RFA offer sheet, but how realistic is that? It would have to start at more than $23M to become a problem where the Warriors would have to jettison Hield or Moody to make room. With so many signed guards, it might be Hield.
The only other possibility I could come up with is they are leaving roster spots open in the event they have a S&T with Kuminga where they would take back at least two players in the deal. The extra players would likely be waived, then the above who are unsigned would be signed. Just guessing along with everyone else.

Maybe I'm not clear on what you're saying but if Warriors project to be $3.1M below the 1st apron with everyone signed they can't use the TPMLE, right? They have to use the non-taxpayer MLE.

It's a specific use of the NTMLE. Yes, they would use the NTMLE since the Warriors would be below the 1st apron. But they would only use the amount of the TPMLE from the NTMLE to sign Horford, or at least that's what we've been led to believe would be his salary for this season. Doing that would not trigger a hard cap at the first apron.
I see no reason why they couldn't have signed Horford today other than to leave roster spots open in the event of a Kuminga S&T that takes back more players than the Warriors send out.

And in this scenario, the Warriors could really be screwed if they use part of the NTPMLE to sign Horford, hard-capping themselves at the 1st apron, making it much easier for teams to poach Kuminga with a much smaller contract offer (and one that it would be easier to clear room for).
Isn't that right?
And if so, that also raises the havoc Kuminga could cause if he becomes a holdout. (No that anyone has been talking about holding out.)
These seem to be the reasons why Warriors have to wait on Kuminga, not some surprise $20-something mil contract.
