Unless, they want to keep it open like they did last year when they should have given it to Jay Huff in Summer League.

Hopefully, Jalen Suggs will be ok. That is the big concern.

The team is ready to take the field on Training camp.

Can't wait for this season. It is going to be fun to us fans.

Staying healthy is key to our success. Counting it down. 2 days

Media Day is upon us. Here’s the first video from Weltman with more general stuff to come starting at noon.

https://www.nba.com/magic/videos/jeff-weltman-orlando-magic-media-day-20250929

“The vibe in the building has been exceptional”

I like this team.

Suggs: Target is still opening day, up to Arnie the trainer. Watch if Suggs gets into the preseason game he’ll likely play opening day if not very soon thereafter.

Moe: Further off, sounds like much further off, no timetable given other than he said to check ACL injury timelines of the past.

Other highlights I’ll paraphrase:

Not signing a 15th player will wait until Galway through the season and look at a minimum guy once the prorated salary works with the cap.

AB looks great, Jett has matured, but they as a team are turning the corner on development and headed towards winning so only the guys that help win will be playing this year.

He ended in….

We can talk about shooting percentages but we all know we are ultimately going to be judged by winning.

Isaac definitely looks a lot slimmer than last year. Gonna need that short-area quickness back for his 15 minutes of defensive hell each night.

Thank god basketball is back, or close to back. I will try, and probably fail, to manage my expectation for this hyped up season. A lot to be excited about, but I am going to try not to let that turn to anger at the first sign of struggle.

It sounds like Jeff expects cap space to open up for a minimum contract mid season as salaries become "prorated", which is a cap mechanic that I never even considered. We can just wait until the minimum fits in our cap space to fill the 15th spot.

Edit: I should say the contracts get cheaper and will fit in our cap space.

Players get prorated salaries based on games left in the season so we will eventually be able to afford someone with our existing cap space.

Personally all the rumor and talk about Suggs and the risks around his injury healing timeline and long term success (of which I wasn't aware) has SIGNIFICANTLY diminished my excitement for the start of the season. I believe without him at full capacity we are a middle of the pack team. He is the motor that makes us go IMO

I disagree 100%, I don't think he's a key driver at all. If he misses time we'll have some evidence one way or another.

Hes the 4th best player on a very deep team. This team should be fine without him if he doesn't return until early November (which would be 2-3 weeks after the start of the season).

If he was projected to be out half the year there would be concerns there. But this team has more strength at the guard position to hold down the fort without missing a beat.

We don’t need Suggs to be a good team but we do need him to be a great team. He’s our Draymond Green. He may not be Steph but GSW doesn’t win a damn thing of importance without Draymond.

I’m just hopeful that Suggs is going to be able to hold up physically. That knee surgery sounds a bit worrisome and the way the team managed the injury from the beginning doesn’t help me feel better about it.

I am not worried if Suggs comes back, I think he will sometime in Nov. I am more worried about what he looks like when he returns. Just hoping for the best.

Feel like everyone is being pretty hyperbolic with Suggs' injury. That sort of work being done pretty much aligns with around the start of the season, which they're targeting.

I disagree to your disagreeance 75%

While we have the top 3 players that can put up numbers on paper. Suggs gives us a legitimate 4th and shooting on a team desperate for a system to spread the floor. You also can't discredit his defensive tenacity.

That being said. Let's see how everyone else young has improved.
