My first question is "Who is Golden State trying to trade for with this salary?"

This was always the result that made the most sense for GSW and JK

Aaron Turner narrowly avoids solidifying the title of The Absolute Worst Agent Ever.
This is about how it had to end.

Thank god that is over. I don't really feel sympathy for either party - Golden State hasn't put him in the best position to succeed, but he also has a lot of undesirable qualities as a player. This money is more that he is worth based on play, but I think pretty tradeable based on potential.

How so?
We should give the reigns to a mid scorer with low b-ball iq and effort?
He’s had plenty of opportunities

Will be curious to see if Kerr feels more comfortable playing him more now that we have 2 legit stretch fives between Post and Horford

Sacramento (something based on Monk or DeRozan) and Phoenix (O'Neale or Allen + Richards) are the obvious answers but really the answer is "it depends on how well he plays the first half of the season"

Re: SHAMS: Jonathan Kuminga back to Golden State ($48.5MM/2, 1+1 Team Option)
Interested on the breakdown, it's a 2 year deal with a team option but that seems worse than what I expected JK to get considering the last Warrior offer that went public. I'm surprised it's not just 2 years guaranteed.
Absolutely. The QO only made sense to some Kings fans and people who don't like the Warriors

Their roster construction is pretty terrible for the set of skills he has. When they committed to Butler, they should have traded him, and even before, when they lost Klay they really lost the spacing to be able to play him. That's just my take - if a player really doesn't fit what you do and you don't move on it is harmful to both parties. Sure he got minutes, but he wasn't in a place to succeed, and it has been an open secret (if it was secret at all) that the coaching staff doesn't value what he brings. I think in the right environment with some spacing a team could actually develop him and see if there is something there. I'm not sure there really is, but if he were on a team like San Antonio, or Indiana when they had Turner, I could see him having a real chance to develop.

Yeah, I like this for both sides. A lot better than taking the QO. And think it’s fair to assume GSW tried every option to get value in a sign and trade.
So keeping him is better than not? If he ends up fitting with Horford there, you keep him on the option or try to work out a long term deal next summer. Long term likely painful blow up is coming either way.

Holding out went well for him, that's a lot of cash for someone that has shown very little.

I’m just saying this as someone who’s seen every game of his career.
He could average roughly twenty on the wizards as an inefficient scorer tomorrow but that’s not development in my eyes.
His gaps are his awareness and effort on defense. His shooting. His maturity. None of those change on any other team IMO.
He just doesn’t have the awareness to realize he is not Kobe Bryant.

Basically one mil more than the original offer.
More than he deserves - he’s played to an mle level so far.
But if there is a team option then we need to the salary slot to potentially trade.

Bam Adebayo popped into my mind immediately. I believe Kuminga+Hield+Moody gets pretty close salary wise. Flood Miami with picks
investigate Adam Silver
